Retlaw .. Walter holmes a very old member on here died on 2nd January 2024 aged 92.

He was a fireman at accrington station. he was mainly known for working with Bill Turner about the history and the members of the Accrington Pals.

Rest in peace walter .. you are going to be missed.

Rest in Peace Walter, you were a sterling chap who did a lot of vital research that helped people locally to find out about those who fought for this country.

Retlaws funeral is on friday 19th january at 1pm at accy crem chapel with burial at 1.45pm

RIP Retlaw. The passing of this extremely knowledgeable man is indeed very sad. His contributions to Accrington Web were always very interesting. He helped me on a number of occasions with his expertise. My sincere condolences to his family.

Sad news, had the pleasure of meeting Walter a few times, always the first person to help out anyone who needed advice, R.i.P to you and your no nonsense approach to everything, we should all try and be a little more Retlaw
