Thank you John for not taking points from myself when if you where being petty me and Bazf wouldn't stand a chance with all the Man U supporters that have appeared on here recently. Just be content with the points you got at Anfield unless I upset you but would I do that ???

It is quite sad when folk can't live with any other opinions than their own.....What happened to freedom of speech? I might not agree with what someone says but I would defend their right to say it and certainly wouldn't take Karma off anyone because their views were different to mine.

Yes she's one of the family who formed Clannad. I was a Clannad fan before anyone had ever heard of them and before they developed the familiar style they have now. They started out as a traditional Irish folk group.

This is so true Margaret. Karma allows for pettyness, I never have and never would take a karma point off anyone regardless of what they said!!!!

Re: karma

I am sorry to hear that you got points deducted JW I dont know why it would happen as your post was not offensive and was viewed by myself at least as part of the banter on the subject. I for one dont give or remove points as I think that everyone has an opinion and should be able to air it in public, if I disagree or not I will comment in the forum. I had points removed because I dont belive in god!!! so its not going to change my mind, I think if a karma system is in place then it should be MANDATORY to leave your name.

Re: karma

I agree Bazf and i'm sure a few others on the forum would agree too. All though they may not post their agreement, for fear of point deduction lol!

That's funny Bazf. I had some deducted because I do believe in God! Silly isn't it? I think people being downright offensive could be a justification for removing Karma but for a genuine debate where both (or several) points of view are put forward without recourse to petty name calling or personal insults shouldn't call for it.

I think if you are taking Karma points away then it should be mandatory to say who you are.......I don't think it is so important if you are giving good Karma, although that is nice to know too!

Re: karma

The only person who can see who gives and deducts karma is Roy. If someone has taken a load of karma from you and not left their name, Roy can see who it is. He has banned people from the forum in the past for taking karma from people willy-nilly. :) It's nice to get good karma from someone, but annoying when someone takes karma and doesn't leave a name.

Re: karma

I love it when someone who gives me karma lets me know who they are as well as the reason why. If the reason for deducting karma is a valid point then I accept that too but it doesn't half bug me when I get deducted for a stupid reason such as "cars were there first" in the Town Hall thread because the person deducting the karma is the one actually in the wrong legally regarding that road. If they'd deducted it from me if I was saying it should be OK for cars to go through and flout the law then I would accept that as valid.

I suppose it will always be a cause of grumbling one way or another but on the whole I like the idea of it because it's nice to be able to give and receive and know you've impressed somebody with something (or not as the case may be).

Re: karma

We all say that Karma doesn't really matter, but I think to most people it does matter.....if you have had Karma deducted it rankles because you were only putting your point of view forward and isn't that what the forums are for????? it would be pretty boring if we all had the same views.....in fact it wouldn't be worth turning up to see who's written what!

Re: karma

I think Karma is a good thing, for example in the Stanley section we have had a few silly young men trying to spoil it :( But when lots of us bad karma the individual his karma figure is so low, that every post he makes, people will take with a pinch of salt what he says due to his obviously silly history.

On the other foot, a higher karma figure shows that that persons post SHOULD be trustworthy/honest due to a goodish history ...
