if your walking by the tax office keep an eye out for rats walking about ther huge i went to the tax office the other day and one walked bold as brass across the path leading up to the doors lol
would like to thank hyndburn council for keeping our town so clean lol:rolleyes: |

try where i work near kearns allen in baxenden the place is full of em day and night imbetween brewtimes they are perminantly in our brew room lost count of how many times one of us has lost our dinner through accidently leaving it out on the table and every morning the place is full of prints right throughout the building as with all the stone dust everyday its easy to spot all the prints . the young are easy to catch or stupid enough to be caught but only had a cpl of adults and thats coz we ve hit em with something they dont go near the traps

hollands pies must have problems with them , where does the brook lead to i know it comes down by the side of the lodges then go s undergound under the old mill then comes out at my works then back under the scrap yard . Been told off a few if rats are coming out during the day and they dont mind people seeing them then theres loads of em

I see some alot,on that small bridge that runs between Oswaldtwistle and Fern Gore.Its a wonder situation not worse with all the rubbish still on streets leaft by our beloved refuse collection teams,from the winds a few weeks ago.

I spent the summers of '70 amd '71 as a "Rodent Control Operative" for Accrington Corporation. The job consisted of putting poison down manholes. Judging by the lack of rats we actually saw in the sewers, I would say that this method worked quite well. I wonder if the post survived HBC's cost-cutting exercises?

when i lived in springhill, they were turning that old church into the pool club, there were loads of field mice that appeared, not as bad as rats though!

stupid rats
the house next door to us recently got repaired and the cellar was cemented they've all decided to move in with me and provide me company i'll show them who's boss.. dont worry matey's u wont b living for long... the poison the council come around adn put is just useless - either that or there's just so damn many of them!!! there's one possibly two loitering around the house here - i've recently filled all the holes possible with foam filler and i think it maybe the one that got left out in the cold and left to play chicken wiht the evil mani... muhahahaha who shall have the last laugh now?! feel my furyyyyyyyyyy!!! |

We recently had one living in the wall cavity of our kitchen.It got in a small gap where the outlet pipe for the washer is.My wife saw it taking all the nuts off the bird table then running into the hole.A man from the council came and put poision in and we got rid of it.It was about the size of a kitten but apparently the can squeeze into a hole the size of a 50p.Everything has been blocked up now and thankfully we have had no trouble since.

Walk along the path in milnshaw park that separates Asda with the lodge there are plenty down there. The other day I was nervously walking this path when a rat walked across in front of me (coming from Asda car park) with a large piece of bread in it's mouth and instead of going straight across into the lodge as I would have expected it walked down the path that leads to Hyndburn road. I couldn't help screaming as I hate the things and am actually heaving writing this at the thought of it!

I see rats every day as i'm walking around milnshaw park. Poison has been put down for them at the lower end of the park but not at the top where i see them.

seems they are every where just been over shadsworth this afternoon,sat in the back garden having a brew and we watched a massive rat wandering round the bottom end of the garden for a good 10 mins, we were told theres usually 3-4 at once but we only saw the one, probably take a plague or something for action lol

There all over the place was at the BK drive through in Blackburn and there was a huge one just on the grass verge having its tea, was bothered by the people or the cars! Used to see them every night in my horses stable eating the poo, massive as well urrrgh.

Hmmmmm....don't forget that the German word for the Town hall is "Das Rathause". (I'm not making this up).
The problem with increased numbers of rats is not just peculiar to Accy; it's everywhere. The reason is only partially due to increased resistance to poison. The main cause is that their everday foodstuff is far more easily available. I'm talking, of couse, of takeaway Mac's, Pizza's, KFC's, Kebabs and all the other rubbish masquerading as human foodstuff; It's not - it's rat food. So just remember that next time youve had a few drinks and then bite into a two quid donner kabab, only to sling the rest of it; because that is Ratty's Midnight Feast. |
