Educate Vandals for a better class of vandalism

It seems the largely discredited post-modernist dictat still runs in this part of the world. Youngsters, are now to be taught the finer points of the history and appreciation of graffiti.

Free-lance artist,(Whatever one of those is) Mark Cameron, will be running a ten week course at Clayton Youth and Community Centre, no doubt funded by Mid Pennine Arts.

Teenagers will learn all about the History of Graffiti and they will have a chance to make graffiti of their own.

So the long suffering residents of Clayton can expect to be treated to examples of the new learning adorning walls, bus shelters, garage doors and anything else which stays still long enough for them to whip a spray can out and cover.

Should this sort of behaviour be encouraged by public funding?

I seem to remember a few years back when kids from a local Youth centre had lessons on ' wall art' they proceeded to decorate a local business's Gable end...job well done.
Oh,they later found they should have got the owners permission!:)

They would do better to teach them painting and decorating......at least it would give them a chance to earn a living at something useful.
