*LOL*
that ad for that kitchen tile cleaner one how corny is that?! i cant remember what its called but first time i seen it i thought it was actually a joke ad till the ending came and i was like thats a real item?! |
Re: talking of crap adverts...
It's no good for the long term, but if you want to do something quick if you are selling up, it can be quite effective.
The new owners will probably want to re-tile anyway! |
Re: talking of crap adverts...
The Splenda advert annoys me. That woman just freaks me out.
|
Re: talking of crap adverts...
I like the adverts on channel 4 in the afternoon. Chair lifts, over 50's life assurance [no agent will call! - pity as they'd probably like some company,] & marvelous baths with a door in the side. Do you get in, close the door then sit until it's full of water? They'll be there for hours!

Re: talking of crap adverts...
One that appears to have made a recent re-appearance is the Nissan commercial with a car leading crowds of joggers through the slums of some unnamed south american hell-hole. I hate the sound track. It grates on my sensibilities to such an extent that would happily contemplate murdering the half-wit responsible for it.
And that awful brain-dead un-celebrity who advertises Revitalift,"Wrinkles? I'm winning back" I could quite easily derive a great deal of satisfaction from smacking her in the face with a bag of shillings. The other thing that makes me laugh is ASDA adverts, If they are "always cutting prices" How come they are not giving the stuff away yet? |
Re: talking of crap adverts...
Has anyone worked out the meaning of the BMW advert?
It's the one that says it's got valvetronic engines, and I am trying to work out the link between tortoises and valvetronic engines. Unless tortoises have valvetronic engines as well? Hmmm... that's something I hadn't thought of... |

Re: talking of crap adverts...
One product I haven't seen an advert for yet is the new Heinz Tomato Ketchup bottle.
If you haven't got one yet you are in for a treat. This almost qualifies for the "best thing since sliced bread" award. The bottle stands on it's cap and at the slightest squeeze delivers a fine jet of sauce exactly where you want it. No more shaking and banging the bottle to get that last bit, or ending up with so much on your plate that your dinner looks like a road traffic accident. It's brilliant. Joined-up thinking, at last! |
Re: talking of crap adverts...
I haven't seen those. I've got hair conditioner that stands on its cap so it makes you wonder why ketchup manufactureres (or even us the general public) have never thought of it before. Maybe we should have been out there demanding upside down ketchup bottles!

When I lived in Durham, and used to visit my parents in Blackburn, I used to notice the different products advertised and on sale. Different things would be offered in one place from another. Warning - stay away from "upside down" bottles of Helman's Mayonaise. It's too gloopy to run down the bottle properly and you always have to take the top off and scrape the last bit out with a knife. |
Re: talking of crap adverts...
I used to love the mushy pea advert fantastic!!!
Have you ever noticed an advert for something that doesnt tell you what the product is? I have. I mean what if you were blind? you can still listen to the telly but how the hell are you suposed to know what the product is they are trying to sell to you?? |
Re: talking of crap adverts...
I often find myself wondering that and I can see the things!
After some ads I just sit there thinking "What the heck was all that about?" |
