The "official" answer is Glamis Castle but I've been asked this one before and not by Busman!

It is most likley to have taken place in the family's London House. The birth was actually recorded in Hitchin in Hertfordshire where it was recorded as taking place in the family's home in St Paul's Walden Bury Hertfordshire.
I hadn't heard about the crate on the banks of the Clyde:D

I reckon between us we've got the Strathmore London Residence, Glamis Castle and the St Paul's Walden Bury one which appears on her birth cert.

And NB she wasn't royal family when she was born. She was officially a commoner back then. :p

As you say, the birth certificate places her at St. Pauls Warden but some believe that she was actually born in London....and many historians and locals from her home village are of the belief that she never made it to London and presented herself to the world actually enroute!!

I think that this last theory is the most probable as it is unlikely that the Bowswater-Lyon family would want to put down an unfashionable place on her birth certificate. :D

I thought the Queen Mum was supposed to have been born at Glamis Castle ....

As for Princess Michael, she started out as plain Christine Simpson. Then she married Tom Troubridge (a bit of social climbing there) and became Christine Troubridge. It was common knowledge that she was carrying on with Prince Michael for years. Finally she surfaces as Marie-Christine von Reibnitz ..... fiancee of Prince Michael. Funny, innit?

As to the Royal Family being a disgrace to their ancestors - what a bunch! Hardly a decent one amongst them. The succession has been stretched so far that it is now quite ridiculous to state that it is a proper succession.

Too expensive - but I'd pay more to avoid having President Blair!

Yes that's what I thought too Pendy. I'm sure that was what they used to tell us.

Yes where on earth did she get her von Reibnitz from? If I ever have any spare time I might try looking into that.

I just think that the idea of being born to rule is out of date, when the Queen does one in the future who is there to look up to out of the rest of the clan?
It's only my view but we should have a head of state who is voted for.

Who knows where the Queen was born? Answer quickly, now...no mucking about..just the address will do. There's half a million Ackers in it for the first correct answer.

That programme of disrepute and satire, known as Spitting Image was not so wide of the mark when it came to pointing out the philandering nature of many of the royals.
The way they portrayed Phil the Greek had me in stitches.
