KFC'S AD BURGER TOO BIG

A KFC commercial has been banned.

In the advert for the mini chicken fillet burger, a group of people stood at a railway station enjoying the food while one man asked if he could "have a bite".

A close-up shot of the burger in a woman's hands prompted viewers to complain that the real thing was much smaller than that seen on screen.

The ASA said: "One viewer thought the product was shown to be the size of a standard burger, another said the advertisement showed the burger to be at least twice its correct size."
Staff from the watchdog purchased three of the burgers from a KFC restaurant in London and ruled "there was a difference in the size and presentation to the advertised product".

KFC said the burgers on screen had been cooked in a KFC store that day and were within the "standard range of dimensions for the burger".

The woman in the advert may also have had small hands, it said, because all actors in the advert were holding the same-sized burger.

Banning the advert, the watchdog added: "Even though the product was called a mini chicken fillet burger, we do not think this was sufficient to alert consumers to the fact the product was smaller than appeared in the advertisement."

Well having been in America [the sods to blame for the fast food craze] n been to their MD's it is a case of wysiwyg on the pictures n they are made out of proper beef not our flat processed stuff n does taste good n is filling unlike our sh*te never fills u except with crap n a rip off, u can eat out so cheaply over there n least quality - here seems to be crap quality for fast turnover.

I work at k.f.c and i think that the mini fillet burger is good for £1 its a big enough size and for one pound i reckon thats good value although ive never tryed one.

I recall one time a couple of us had been to the cinema, and decided to go to BURGER KING. I was really hungry and thought ''mmmmm that burger on the board looks good and massive'' so I chose to have one of them. To my horror it was actually smaller than a cheese burger from MD'S. I was not happy:mad:

Adverts can be misleading It's not just fast food, toys at christmas can be made to look really exciting,going back years some people at a place I worked at paid a fortune for slimming tea that was rubbish over £!0 a box!,Just think how powerful adverts are,kids can tell you what a logo is eg MD's KFC pepsi,coke etc at the age of about three!

I know what a leek is you have to ring a plumber to sort it out. Or it's when I start running the bath and think oh I'll just have a quick look what's going on on accyweb and then forget all about the bath :o

That also happened to me the other night. I left the hot water running and thought '' I will just see if anyone is on accyweb''. I got posting then thought ''sh*t'' ran into the bathroom and it had filled right up with hot water. I couldn't put my hand in to take the plug out to put cold water in, and had to wait nearly an hour til it cooled down enough for me to get my hand in to the plug. heheheheehe

Yep that also LOL n means u have to stay chatting to pass the time for the bath to cool also meant i a rather full bath luckily i caught it just in time or else i probably would have no kitchen ceiling left i blame accyweb ;) PMSL!!!

Can't see how anyone can pass comment on the value of the item unless they have actually tried it;I know,Luke,you are a vegetarian;does your conscience not bother you working at KFC? Would much rather order a pizza/Chinese from a reputable takeaway than eat that rubbish!

i know what u mean everybody asks me that but i wasn't a vegie when i started at k.f.c and i really enjoy working there and if i don't eat the food then theres no harm done i don't think really.
