oak hill memorial

just read in the observor that the war memorial has been vandalised again i find this mindless behavior pathetic. disgusting,as the police have got certain names@info from what the mindless cretins wrote i sincerly hope that the culprits will be brought to book(not community service) JT is fit by cc.zaf and julie c and damo i would hope that when the police visit the schools or anybody who knows these louts shops em.there now i've had my rant, but behaviour like that really winds me up.

It's very sad that this sort of thing goes on, I work with ex-servicemen in my job, even though it's sixty years ago some still get nightmares about the war, some were wounded, and know how much they get upset by this sort of vandalism,I had the privalage to know one of the last of the Accrington Pals who told me all about the Somme and the horrors of the first world war, those that do this are'nt fit to wipe their boots!!!

Sooner the better, it would be nice if these people could be publicly named and shamed.

It would be an idea to have the birch for Public Crimes like this.

Its disgusting isn't it, my grandad was a prisoner of war and most of the younger louts may have no connection to the war, but most of all they just lack respect and discipline, I go to Oakhill park regular to feed the ducks and take Ellie to the park which is lovely apart from the broken beer bottles. Probably needs to be a new thread but bring back a bit of discipline ie cane and a good slap round the head I say!

Its a sign of the "chavi" times that they are stupid enough to sign their names when doing this vandalism..........Where were they when brains were given out???

Yes,disgusting behaviour. If the culprits are caught, what will happen?I know of several similar occurences when the people where caught they didnt even warrant an ASBO.
They know this before, during and after ,commiting these acts of vandalism.
On the more positive side I think that these nicknames will be known to the police and Community Wardens,it's just a matter of proving it!

Busman they are'nt vandals these days! they are "Graffeti artists" and are like the "Joy rider" who steals someones car, given a name to make what they do sound fun and smart!! and if they get charged will get a lighter sentence by the law:(
"Joy riders"are young car stealers and graffeti artists are nasty vandal's to me!
Stop giving cute names to young people that cause crime!!!

Careful waneyboy, those words "gra****i artist" lost many members karma a while back for criticising them. SOME members consider it "ART!";) :s_pfff:

In tonight's service in Westminster Abbey for the first day of the Battle of the Somme Accrington Pals were mentioned. The Thiepval monument in France where there was a similar service was originally built with brick from Lille but in 1975 it was refaced with Nori brick which I think is very fitting .
