peacocks

Last june a peacock arrived on our lane is oswaldwistle,it has now found its home on a outbuildings roof, many of the people who live here feed it and say how nice it is to see it now its grown all its feathers back, the downside is its cry or shout it does at 5am in the morning and answers to any high pitch noises, myself i dont hear a thing in the morning but i do during the day which i dont mind at all like most people here, but round the corner is a little estate for the eldely and there not happy at all infact theres a pertition going round to get shut of it,just wondering what what the people on here would do if they had a screaming peacock on there street ,keep it? or shoot it?

I don't think that it is fair to shoot an animal for doing what comes naturally to it. For heavens sake there is little enough beauty in this benighted borough. Anywhere else the bird would be seen as an asset.

If anything should be shot, I think it should be the whinging curmudgeonly pensioners.

Have any of you thought of trying to find out where it came from and if anyone is missing a peacock?

I've not seen them at Ossy Mills but there's usually one at the end of Cross Edge.

What shall we set the age limit to Bob. I think it was 30 in Logan's Run. That sounds a little low. Maybe 70 would be better. Just think how much money that would save the country.

Peacocks are quite noisy. You will find they also like eating flowers. They had a problem with them a couple of years back where my parents live. They were eating the flowers in peoples gargens and making a real mess.

They definately had some at the Mills but not seen them in a while;maybe that's why! They would probably take it off your hands anyway.

Sounds a bit too easy, they don't move fast enough for it to be good sport.

Re: peacocks

you would be amazed at how fast a pensioner can move after you apply a bit of butter to the soles of their slippers :D
