There they can make their own colourful flag of woodland life or create an animal for the spectacular ‘enchantment banners’. ‘Fabulous flags’ workshops Sunday 19 June, 2-5pm Wednesday 29 June, 6-8pm Arden Hall, Plantation St, Accrington The event is one of many taking place this summer as part of the Land programme, co-ordinated by Mid Pennine Arts, which encourages people of all ages to take part in creative activity led by professional artists and, in so doing, make a positive difference to their surroundings. Re: Enchanted Woodland events
About 30 children plus assorted parents and grandparents turned up to last nights flag workshop at Arden Hall (where were you A-B?).
The main event takes place next Thursday which is a culmination of three week's of work done by four schools plus the two public workshops. There will be a procession of all the flags and banners, accompanied by some music that has been specifically written for the event in some music workshops. |
Re: Enchanted Woodland events
We were at the "new intake night" at Moorhead unfortunately. Pity this couldn't have been sometime during the school holidays, but then again we'd probably be in Carnforth.

There won't be any fairies around - unless Garinda would like to join us!

Re: Enchanted Woodland events
Are we sure that this doesn’t constitute Homophobic behaviour in the eyes of our over zealous politely correct country.

Re: Enchanted Woodland events
As the only open' fairy' on here, [believe me there are many more] l am quite suprised at being 'dragged' up as the token puffda in yet another unrelated thread.
When l tried to explain in other relevant threads that homosexuals aren't all child abusers, or quite able to serve in the Armed Forces for Queen and country, l came in for a lot of stick? Trust me self depeciation is my forte, and if l couldn't take it l wouldn't dish it.:p Was a bit suprised at who commented, thanks for the solidarity Sister!:( Thanks Red for giving me the nod so l could answer in this thread. ;) Look out soon all you small minded biggots, because you never know l might just reveal in my blog, like l have to a few people on here, how l'm not even gay!! Love and kisses to you all from my little box some of you seemed to place me in.:) Tealeaf don't worry as soon as a thread comes up about Thatcherite, balding speccy four eyed gits, l'll be there to bring you into it, he he he. |
Re: Enchanted Woodland events
Oops! Sorry - and so soon after we'd become friends. In future I will stick to baiting Acrylic-Bob and leave you alone. At least he doesn't have hissy fits and take karma away from me.
Anyone want to debate the meaning of art to get me off the hook with Garinda? |
Re: Enchanted Woodland events
I didn't take any karma off you Gayle.
I have the balls to sign it when l do, ask Tealeaf. Hissy fit? See it's the patronising sterotyping by yourself l found so suprising thats all. All that after l applauded your 'Vagina' at the James Street Working Men's Club. :) |

Don't you go quoting 10cc at me!!!
Anyway, yes thank you! Did you? |
Re: Enchanted Woodland events
Once again, Garinda, I'm sorry. Didn't mean to offend.
I'm glad you appreciated my 'Vagina'! |
Re: Enchanted Woodland events

|

|
Re: Enchanted Woodland events

Re: Enchanted Woodland events
One or more of us is losing the plot here, Gayle’s ‘Vagina’! Cricket and now air hostesses called Mandy and Geoff. Just what is going on?
|
Re: Enchanted Woodland events

|
Re: Enchanted Woodland events
It's a challenge, to see how far you can wander on one thread. Actually, I've just had a good idea for a new thread.
Uncle Mick and I are old friends, or in his case very old friends, and we slipped into shorthand there. |
Re: Enchanted Woodland events
Slipped into what?
What ever happened to the rambling thread? |
Re: Enchanted Woodland events
See the new thread - Thread wandering...
I didn't realise it had been done before, oh well, I thought I was being original! |

No, I think the sight of me in a dress would probably shock people too much.

Re: Enchanted Woodland events
To the person who deducted karma for what l said in this thread, what a coward!!!!!!!!
It's not the fact that you deducted karma, just that you were too cowardly to post your cruel comments with your name attached. By the way l'll grow up when you grow balls, [not a physical possibility l know!] ;) |
Re: Enchanted Woodland events
Still no reply from the coward!
Thanks for the nice pm Gayle, and thanks for the karma Tinks. To the person who deducted the karma and made the comments they did if you are too scared for a public debate and would rather pm me, l will be more than happy to defend myself. If you wish to remain an anonymous chicken, that is your right to do so, it just saddens me that you are unable to air your views publicly. :) STILL SMILING. |

Re: Enchanted Woodland events
Over 500 people turned up to the Enchanted Woodland event at Arden Hall on Thursday 7th July.
This magical event transformed Arden Hall Park into an enchanted woodland for the evening – it was the culmination of three weeks of artistic activity focused around Arden Hall with four local schools involved and local people participating. During the weeks leading up to the event, local schoolchildren from four schools and community groups worked with artists to create new stories about the woodlands, the hills and their inhabitants, working from local folk tales and stories of the people, animals and plants of Lancashire. They designed and created a new world of animals, plants and people, represented as anything from 20cm-tall twig-puppets to human-sized legendary white deer, and including magical moths and clouds of bats and swallows. The new stories and ‘characters’ then combined in a free public performance, including music, dance and drama, which was staged in the Park at 6pm on 7 July. There were also two public workshops leading up to the event which members of the local community attended. There they made their own colourful flags of woodland life or create an animal for the spectacular ‘enchantment banners’. The event is one of many taking place this summer as part of Mid Pennine Arts' Land programme, which encourages people of all ages to take part in creative activity led by professional artists and, in so doing, make a positive difference to their surroundings. |
Re: Enchanted Woodland events
They didn’t do any fairies then……..sorry, somewhat naughty of me I know. I’m pleased it all went so well for you Gayle. At the end of the day, like it or not, getting kids together and involved in their communities is what is lacking in this country. Maybe involvement in these projects might encourage them to act with a little more respect. At leased you are doing your bit.
