VE/VJ event
1 Attachment(s)
You might remember that I told you about this event some time ago. Well, this is the poster for it to give you a little bit more information.
It's free but it is a ticket do so you have to get a ticket in advance. If you'd like to come, and I'd love it if a big Accy Web contingency came down, let me know how many tickets you want and I'll get them to you. PM me with an address to send them to. Also, I'm still looking for photographs. What I want is pictures of service men and women then a picture of the same person a few years after the war at a family event or something like that. Please help, me make the photo wall really special. |
Re: VE/VJ event
I'm amazed that this hasn't had any comments since yesterday.

The clues are all there Gayle... Subjects been done once. even accywebbers arn't sad enough to moan about it twice :) |
Re: VE/VJ event
Good point - but then again when has it stopped us before.
I suppose what I was really hoping for was a clamour for tickets. |
Re: VE/VJ event
There's only a couple of tickets left for this event. I've been blown over by the number of people who wanted to come.
Even if you don't come to the whole event you can still pop into the town hall on the day and see the exhibition boards with photos and local info on. |
Re: VE/VJ event
Phew, I'm exhausted but extremely happy. Our VE/VJ event went off very well this afternoon. 300 people (average age 60) turned up to dance and watch.
Few hairy bits but only for the organisers, no one else would have noticed. A lot of very happy people came and had a fab time. I'm on a high! Just a shame that Hyndburn Women's Forum had to organise an event like this because Hyndburn Borough Council couldn't get their act together to do it. But I suppose they have better things to spend their money on - how much did they spend on the Mayor making this year? |

Re: VE/VJ event
Very happy to hear things went well for you Gayle, I would have been there other than for the fact that I was farming for the weekend up in Barnacre. I hope that someone had the foresight to take lots of photographs and that we will see them posted……..

Re: VE/VJ event
I've uploaded a few pictures of the event. I've put them in Public Events but I didn't know how to create a sub category. If a moderator could move them I'd appreciate it and then perhaps someone could explain how I could do if for next time.
Sorry to be a pain. |
Re: VE/VJ event
Hi Gayle
Sorry for the delay but I’ve only just come across this post. I have moved your photos and put them in their own album. http://www.accringtonweb.com/gallery...ry.php/cat/531 I think for now you will have to request an album to be set up under what ever category so that you can upload your photos directly to it. Unfortunately, at the moment members cannot add subcats /albums into the Gallery, only add their own personal albums under Members Galleries. You could actually create yourself an album in the Members Gallery and upload your photos there and at some later date have the images moved from there to a more appropriate album under the correct category. But it would save time and a bit of messing around if you were to request the album and upload direct. Hope this helps |
