Touched

Touched
a drama by Stephen Lowe

Oswaldtwistle Players
Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre
19th - 22nd October
7.30pm
Tickets £7 (concessions £6) - all tickets on Wed £5

It's set in the 100 days between VE day and VJ day. It's about the lives of the women at home as they wait for their men to return (or not!).

Mostly dramatic but has some hilarious moments in it. Really makes you think about how life was back then.

I play Betty, the youngest daughter - who has lost her love when his ship sank but finds hope with a Polish refugee.

I told you that you would advertise it on here :)

I don't think I will be able to make it, I am hoping to be at a meeting;)

Only just 'got' this post - doh! Unless of course, the 'chair' changes the date of the meeting!

By the way, back on thread, tickets are going very well for this play but we will still have some available on the door.

We had a dress rehearsal today, as opposed to a trouser rehearsal, and it seemed to go well. We have another five rehearsals before the play opens so plenty of time - although perhaps I should be sat reading my lines instead of posting on here! lol

Do I look like the sort of person to take another man on a date to the theatre?

Of course not.

Bachelor Rindy will be out with his Mother.

The very idea.

Men take me to the theatre actually, and I usually end up in a box, so there.:)

So I have heard. You fell asleep last time if I remember correctly. :)

garinda 18-10-2005 14:59

Re: Touched

No, wrong again.

I've never fallen asleep in a box.;)

Change of plan. Going Friday now, sold Saturday's tickets on the blackmarket.

Gayle 19-10-2005 10:56

Re: Touched

Wear a sweater because the heating isn't on top form at the theatre. I'd suggest you all huddle together but our audiences aren't usually big enough to generate enough body heat.

garinda 19-10-2005 14:17

Re: Touched

Can we pay on the door on Friday night? The tickets we had for Saturday we had to give away because of a prior engagement.

Gayle 19-10-2005 16:33

Re: Touched

Yes, no problem. If you'd have let me know I'd have just swapped them for you.

Gayle 19-10-2005 22:12

Re: Touched

First night over with, only three more to go.

Everything went well, knit one perl one a few times but we all ended at the same point.

If anyone does come, stick around and say hello afterwards.

Re: Touched

Anyone who wants a good night out, go and see this play, which has it's last night tomorrow.

It was well written and acted. The lead played by Michelle Arthur was of an outstandingly professional standard, and she was very well supported by a strong cast, with many fine performances.

It was poignant and moving, as well as having some earthy comic touches.

Very well done to all concerned.

I really enjoyed it very much, and would encourage anybody to catch the last performance tomorrow.:)

Gayle 21-10-2005 22:49

Re: Touched

Thank you, but I think what you were trying to say was 'what a terrific actress that Gayle Knight is', or did I read too much into your post? lol

In all seriousness, thanks for coming and I'm really glad you enjoyed it. It's always a worry when people you know are in.

Yes, Michelle is brilliant, she should be professional.

garinda 21-10-2005 22:52

Re: Touched

All the cast were good. I only mentioned Michelle because I wouldn't have expected anything else but a brilliant performance from you, which you gave.

Your nude scene in the tin bath was mesmorising by the way.;)

garinda 21-10-2005 22:55

Re: Touched

Ok I know it wasn't you nude in the bath, just trying to drum up trade.:)
