Anyone fancy helping out the emergency services?
Every now and then the emergency services get together to practice procedures in the event of a large scale local disaster - I'm assuming this could mean anything from a bomb in a building to a big accident on the motorway.
Anyway, to do this they need volunteers to practice on i.e. be the general public. Their next practice day is on the 15th October at Pickerings Hotel, Garstang, and they need some volunteers - anyone interested? It runs from 9.30am to 1pm and you'll get a free lunch. If you fancy joining in contact Damon Haworth on 01282 708811. You must contact him in advance if you're going to turn up. I think it sounds like great fun and I'd do it myself but it's the set up week for the play and I'll be busy at the theatre. |
