The Cavern Club was on Milnshaw Lane, now knocked down and I think the Tax Office might be built somewhere around the spot where the Cavern was and the owner was a ex Bolton Wanderers Footballer. Cant just remember his name, but did put a few bands on for him them days.

Yes, I remember Jim very well, he was a star drummer and ace guy. I'm Mike Leonard from Nelson and played alongside Jim on many occasions when he was in So On and So Forth. Actually, I'dlike to get in touch, see what he's upto and what he's been doing in his career as one of the best drummers around at the time. Any details?
best

I agree Cashman, It was Castle st.
Do you remember a long tall skinny guy called Tom Robinson . He played in a local Accy/Ossy group for a while. Can't remember the names of the others )perhaps Eric Barnes was one) They never got famous but it 'd be nice to know what happened to Tom

Tony Jenkinson was another of that group Jinks was his nick name, If 'm not mistaken Eric Barnes emigrated to Canada in the sixties, two of them went together but I cant remember the other lads name, Eric's younger bother played cricket for Church and was still living in Ossy the last heard. I can remember going to King Georges Hall in the sixties with Tom Eric Jinxy Tony and Ian Alveston and a load of other guys to see the Beatles, we were all in the balcony and couldn't hear a think, but it was a great night :mosher:

In an earlier post the group Blue Diamonds was mentioned.
The person named as their singer wasn't the Ken Booth who I remember as being their singer.
Ken was an Elvis look alike and we had a few 'dates'.
I meet his sister at school reunions and she told me that he moved to live in Germany and died young :(

Yes it was in castle st the Cavern, found my old memership card the other day, when I was clearing out. I went to the Beatles concert to John, and in the balcony, went with David Robinson, Trevor Gardner, who were in the Scorchers at the time. Roy Orbison, Gerry & the Pacemakers, & others on the same bill. See you do have a good memory Susan.

Hello Mike,Thanks for your kind words. After playing all over the North West with many bands I went to London with Dave Foster & Rod Hill (The Warriors) to form Accrington Stanley. The band was a good one but, short lived.I went on to play with many people over the years, the Ink Spots, the National Head band,Jonesy,The Foundations,Big Jim Sullivan and quite a few more. What band were you in ? Jim.
