Can anyone bring us up to date with what’s on in and around Accrington this Christmas? Anything worth while for us live away to travel over for? I'd like to see some crafty type things and Freash Farmers Markets and the like. Carol singing, fairs and other festive bits and bobs......:)

The lights are being switched on this Thursday Doug, not sure who's switching them on this year but I think the frivolities start from about 5.30.

It's a few years since the Houghton Weavers were there, we've had various 'celebrities' since then, I think it was a robbie williams tribute act last year! Best was a couple of years ago when Jonathan Smith did the honours - unfortunately he didn't sing though.
Haven't seen anything advertised for this year except a small ad in the Observer which just said it was happening this Thursday

Don’t take any notice AccyMad, the littler bleeder was taking the pee. It’s likely to be peeing down anyway so we wouldn’t want them getting wet. It would be nice if something was on to make the effort worth it, even if its only one of those specialist that Mr Tealeaf was referring too. :D

Haslingden Sports Centre is having a do on New Years Eve. Steve Preston is singing. Disco. Bar etc. No kids allowed though. You will have to be over 18. Tickets are available from the sports centre at Haslingden. £15.

I know its not accy but doug said whats in and around Accy and Haslingden isnt that far away!

Well it was very VERY cold....but luckily dry. The fire works were very good.....the lights---------- well they were lights:rolleyes:

My Niece decided to drag me on the Miami!!! :eek::eek: omg that thing can move!!! but is sooooo addictive and I wanted to stay on lmao. :D but the snot plastered across my face made me get off lmao.

Sorry no pictures......we were having too much of a good time on the Miami....had to run to catch the lights and fireworks:o Big Kid yes I know i know.....but it was bloody good on that ride.:D

Yeh, does seem a bit mean .. a celebrity will help to bring the crowds in and usually shops stay open longer (did they ?) to benefit from the extra 'punters'.

Well Mr Britcliffe, does need a good wage so he can go out drinking in Ossy as much as he does!! I work in a pub in Ossy so I know exactly what he drinks and how much, and trust me cut backs have been made for him to drink what he does!! LOL!!
