Dangerously Cheap Beer Alert

I was over getting my van fixed tonight and after I took my mechanic for a well earned pint in the Petre Arms (just off A59 between Whalley and Langho).
My chin nearly hit the bar when I was charged £2.64 for 2 Pints, Yes that`s £1.32 a pint for Samuel Smiths hand job and they do Alpine lager for £1.56. That`s all the time not just offer periods I checked. There`s not much going on there like but after spending a tenner in there who`s bothered ?
Just thought I`d mention it in case anyone likes a bevvy.
:drink:

All Samuel Smith's pubs are like that. It's their own brewery. Check out the "Greyhound" on Whalley Rd, i think they are £1.63 per pint.

:)

Just one problem with Sam Smiths. The beer is worse than toilet duck.

I know where you're coming from, T. That Sam Smiths pub you took us to, which backed onto the Thames, at Wapping, the beer was pants. Was the pub called the Captain Kidd?

If you want a decent pint of Sam Smiths, the Greyhound at Altham and the Tim Bobbin in Burnley both serve a fine example of this beer.

Yeah, I know...but most people go in there for the view & the lager. The ales are super nitrate versions of the cask ales available in Lancs, namely Sovereign & Old Brewery; I recall it was the latter that we were drinking in the Grayhound before the Halifax game last season. I do not rate the cask either - it is far to sweet for my liking - so it is no surprise that they knock the stuff out so cheaply. Give me a pint of Thwaites, Holts, Taylors or Jennings any time.

Eughh... Joseph Holts. It reminded me of the course of Electro Shock Therapy I once endured; it made me shudder & convulse!
