Rather have a night in....
;D ;D
To be honest it must be at least 5-6 years since I had an evening out with the gents. I mean an evening out round Accy. Personally I would rather keep to the locals or have a quiet night in - hear lots of bad stories about the pubs/clubs in Accy. ::) 8) People used to call me 'the drinker' but my phobia of going out now unfortunately does not mean I still live up to this reputation. Let's be careful out there!! PS Is this a chat room Roy? I hope Microsoft do not close it down! |
Re: Rather have a night in....
Why don't you like going out any more?
|
Re: Rather have a night in....
;) Accy's not a bad night out, tend to get out about once a fortnight. To be honest, I rarely see any trouble in Accy on a night out, but it's probably different for blokes ::)
|
Re: Rather have a night in....
accy used to be a great night out but like all the towns round here it has got crap,i prefer a quiet night in with my man and a good film or the computer.
i cant stand all the fighting between yobs and kids that go out just to cause hassle. |
Re: Rather have a night in....
depends which pubs you drink in not all the pubs in accy are full of yobs, some great pubs with great people in ;D
|
Re: Rather have a night in....
its a wierd situation this but when I go down Accy with the missus i have no problems.
yet if i go down Accy with a couple of the lads then in certain pubs you do tend to get an 'atmosphere'. i think it depends who you are with and what pubs you drink in to be honest. that said i suppose Accy no different to any other place then. |
Re: Rather have a night in....
I dont like Accy much for going out, it seems to have a weird atmosphere everytime i go in any pub.
|
Re: Rather have a night in....
I agree with you Becky, a nice takeaway, movie and my fella and i am set for the night. ;)
|
Re: Rather have a night in....
Would be interesting to have a "no-alcohol" night out in accy. Same people, same pubs but no alcohol. It would be interesting to see the difference in behaviour...
|
Re: Rather have a night in....
Was'nt always the case....the pubs are mucked up & best avoided friday/saturday.....stick around the perifery or try Ozzy..
|
Re: Rather have a night in....
Hey Dizzy_D I fancy that - a nice takeaway, movie and your fella....he he!
Only joking, I'm an honest, faithful married woman really!! ;D ;D |
Re: Rather have a night in....
Oh dear. And I was looking for an unfaithful woman...

Should i send you a Im with some addresses.Only joking. Will admit Ossy is a good night out at weekend |
Re: Rather have a night in....
8) I think it pretty much depends who you go out with. I always have a great night, wherever I go, because I get on well with my friends and sisters, we've known each other for years and we catch up on everybody's news and have a laugh.
There are places that we avoid, but that is purely because we don't like them, ie, Opium (full of kids and play terrible music and fleece you to get in) and that little bar next to the warners (too loud, you can't have a chat and never have any strongbow). I do like a night in with a video and a takeaway, but now and then it makes a change to go out and have a laugh, plus I am a dreadful people watcher, so I have it to do. :-* |
Re: Rather have a night in....
Ozzy's OK....wimps like me don't feel threatened on a saturday night there....in fact, it must be at least 5 years since I last had a few jars in Accy on a saturday night
|
Re: Rather have a night in....
Boy George said he would rather have a cup of tea
|
Re: Rather have a night in....
must admit that Ozzy on a Friday night is a good laugh.
the only problem though is that the pubs are too far apart!! ;D |
Re: Rather have a night in....
You lazy thing!! :D
|
Re: Rather have a night in....

Re: Rather have a night in....
Blackburn isn't any better!! It can get rough around FJ's/Blakeys. I have been beaten up a couple of times in my younger days around Blackburn. I must have that Snow White face people just want to hit. ::) :-X :-[
Are there any other victims? |
Re: Rather have a night in....
8) Seen a few fights around Blakey's area, but haven't been to Blackburn for ages. Went to some club on the outskirts of Bolton a couple of years ago. There were about 8 of us in a minibus. We were picked up at about 1am and half an hour after we left, somebody was shot outside, and that was supposed to be a nice club!!!! Can't remember what it's called, but it was on an industrial estate type place. [smiley=alc.gif]

Re: Rather have a night in....

Re: Rather have a night in....
It depends which pubs you go into, although I do notice a lot of people significantly younger than me, I also see a lot of people in town who are my age group or older. If you hang around in pubs like Baileys and the one next to the warners, the age group in there is younger. I usually call into Baileys for a drink, but we don't stay there long. Tend to get 30 -40's in the Arcade bar for the 80's music, and a lot of people think it's rough in there, but it's the one place in Accy where I have never seen a fight.
The so called Accy riot that was publicised in the observer a couple of years ago, was actually 2 or 3 fellas fighting on church st, and about 400 people eating kebabs, waiting for taxis and watching. Me and my friend were sat on the benches outside the church, eating a pizza at the time. When the paper publicised it as a riot, we laughed our socks off. ::) |
Re: Rather have a night in....
I hope you put your socks and your kebab wrapper in a rubbish bin and did'nt just leave them lying around
|
Re: Rather have a night in....
;D Of course I did Tealeaf, I think the amount of litter on the streets in this town is shameful. Went out last night with my friend, had a good laugh. Went to places where you can sit and have a chat, and yes, I took my pizza box home with me. :-*

Re: Rather have a night in....
When I was in that little bar across from Warners back in 1991, it was packed and they were playing Happy Mondays, some kid (young man) poured a pint over some other kids head on the dance floor, well it was so packed there was no dance floor and then a fight broke out.It was hillarious...is that what they call male bonding?
