the bleedin Oscars

Has anyone seen the film Helen Mirren is being hyped as an oscar winner for best actress?..."the Queen"... I have and it was kak!....the whole film is wooden.. no action... the actors play along like its just some extra dosh b4 they get a real film to be in... I'll bet Helen Mirren can't belive she's up for an award for this crap.

If you think Helen Mirren seemed wooden in the role remember who she was portraying and how she appears.

Funny, I saw "The Queen" film and came away with quite the opposite impression. Thought Mirren did a geat job. Instead of relying on special effects, they relied on (gasp!) acting!

If the Oscars were based on action, instead of acting, there would have been far fewer awards headed to performers from the UK over the years. A lot a great actors, to be sure, come from the UK. Very few of them are action heroes.

I'm saying the film gives the impression of being some sort of docu/real time movie.. not slagging off Helen Mirren for her performance but she has acted better in other films.. the film was crap!

Great review, very informative.

You should apply for the job of art critic on the Daily Sport.

I agree granny.... im no absolute fan of the royals but admired diana,s spirit so much and i personally thought that the royals lost soo much credibility after her death due to their ignorance /lack of acknowledgement towards her that it is interesting to see a tribute to how the queen coped with it ... even if it is only to lift public spirit towards the royals again..
