THE NEXT MEET WILL BE AT

THE VICTORIA PUB MANCHESTER RD BAXENDEN

FROM 7-30 ish ON the 28/04/07 last sat of the month

All are welcome its about time some new members came and had some fun too.
so lets see you all there we would love to meet you all.
LETS ALL HAVE A GREAT FUN NIGHT AGAIN

ALSO IF YOU CAN THINK OF A NEW VENUE OR SOMETHING YOU THINK WE MIGHT LIKE DOING THEN PLEASE PM ME WITH YOUR IDEAS.
I WILL GIVE A PRIZE TO THE BEST IDEA AFTER WE HAVE DONE IT AND IT WAS A SUCCESS.PM's only and nothing rude neil:D

BTW, Dennis whilst tied to Thwaites does have 2 decent hand pull ales on(normal and whatever special is available, currently wainwrights????) along with 4 lagers, guiness, strongbow, Magners, Bulmers in bottles plus a few other decent beers and a large selection of single malts.

The Victoria is on Machester road, just past Oak hill park on the left. Its a 'traditional pub' in that it has no SKY, a jukebox , real ales, a pool table and its up to you to make conversation.

a real nice local pub, 10 mins stagger from accy centre

It can take 10 mins to stagger to the toilet after a few never mind half way to Rawtenstall ( thats how far it would feel if you were in staggering mode ) :D

:rolleyes: Hmmm thats the reason I may not be at this one. Last home game of season that day and hopefully the day we can say we are definately staying in the league....so may well be celebrating, so may not get much further than the oaklea....again :D

I really really want to make my first meet, but like Harwood Red I will be up at the Stanley hopefully celebrating the fact we are staying in the football league. Keep up the good work Mick - there is loads of time for people to start confirming, and from the sounds of past meets they are always a good turn out and a cracking laugh. I just can't wait to come to one!

As I aint in town I wont be there but enjoy em when I am in town. Set my visits to coincide with the meets regardless of the hassle it might cause others.:D

I have been to a few meets and I'm not exactly sure I know what you mean Tadah. I have never thought they were bitchy, and I have certainly not heard anyone saying ' Oh she said - he said '. Unless I'm missing something.

I think they are great, and although I can't attend a lot of them because I'm usually working end of every month, I still really enjoy them when I do get there. The people are friendly, and a good laugh is had by all. And YES I suppose you get the morning after ' OMG what did I do that for, or what did I say that for ' but I think that adds to the fun of it all.:)

maxy, have you ever been on the recieving end of people's bitchiness? its not nice when your sat in a room trying to have a conversation with people and people who are sat close to you are having a dig, makes you feel slightly uncomfortable mate

The latter half of this thread is more like a teenage high school gang having a verbal cow pats session. The meets are for drinking laughing get into harmless trouble so generally having a good time. There is no need to take online arguments to the meets (if it happens at all) as this could end them because of the ill feeling it brings. Those I have been to have been light hearted fun entertaining with a pinch of mickey taking.

If people cannot keep this kind of bull out meets then lets just cut them completely. If that happens then a minority destroyed it for the majority the same way that teenagers do hence the comparison!

well said spuggie... Ive only ever managed one meet so far and the atmosphere were great, no bitching or slanging matches , just pure fun were had by all. and from what i can gather i believe all meets have been like this so far, so it would be ashame to lose them because a minority cant behave...

Had a really good time, a big thanks to Mick for organsing it.

Sometimes I've come home from the meets and realised I haven't spoke to half the people there, well tonight I have, and finer company a person couldn't wish for.:)

Thanks for a smashing night, and thanks Kate for the lovely present. I shall think off you whilst under the duvet for the next week or so.:D
