The August Accyweb meet !!
 

The August accyweb meet will be held at Accrington Cricket Club on Aug 25th this is the last sat of the month 7-30pm ish .
They are trying to get a barrel of real ale put on for us but we have a problem but trying to sort it out i will let you know .

Just for those who do not know where it is:
The cricket club is at the end of Thorneyholme Rd, if you come up Burnley Rd past the Spar you take the first left onto Pennyhouse Lane and then take the first right at the traffic island onto Thorneyholme Rd; the club is right at the end of the road, it's down an unadopted rd/ track past the Highams Playing Fields.

or just get a TAXI :D

All members are welcome so come on you new members come and have some fun and meet us .

Don't get me wrong I didn't organise it, thats all been down to Mick... but when we had the cricket day I did make a suggestion and asked them to look into fitting real ale for the night too

I have just been informed that there will be a real ale on for the meet although i dont know what its called yet.:)

Yeah, I'll have to miss this one also.:p The Stock Market's down and I'm too sore to swim!:p I'm always jealous of those who get to go to the Meets. But I am glad that they get the opportunity to have a grand time together!

I wonder if it might not be a good idea to do a roll call of the numbers attending this meet-up. The reason is - if I recall correctly - the idea was raised that we hold a meeting there in order to spend lots of money behind the bar and thus help alleviate the cash crisis that the club was undergoing. If there is only going to be a couple of dozen turn up - or even less - then it may well cost more money for the club than it takes. I am also bearing in mind that there is supposidly a barrel of real ale to be put on the bar. Even if this is only a 'nine', it is unlikely to be supped so if the club do not have a home game the following day, or a similar event, it could end up being chucked away.

Surely if it wasn't going to be financially viable to the club they wouldn't have agreed to the meet being held there, if I were to hazard a guess it I would think they have a home game either the next day or very soon after the meet!:D

And I've just realised cricket season is all but over. I am really hoping to get there, will have to wait and see how things pan out. Went to the July one and really enjoyed it!:D

As the person that is gonna be serving you all on that night it would help me immensely if I had an idea of numbers, purely so I can figure out if I'm gonna be able to cope alone or if it'd be better for me to have someone helping out!

When the meeting was initially booked then the number of people put into the diary, by the chairman of the club who took the booking, was 50-ish people......and yes, we are having a pump fitted on Monday and have ordered 2 nine barrels of real ale for Saturday night as well, so just having a vague idea of numbers would help me out a lot.....therefore I am throwing myself on your mercy and hoping that maybe there could be a roll call of sorts!!

I'll probably be there 'cos I ain't going to be in the smoke this weekend, as it is the Notting Hill Carnival. If you think the annual Accy Mela is bad, then that thing is a billion times worse.

Anyway, we certainly need to get a few more 'yes's' on the board, because 3 postives and 5 maybes won't get the cricket club till ringing very much.

Not exactly a big number so far, is it? 3 certs and 10 possibles - say 5 of those will turn up. With Mez's mate, I make that 9 - we could meet in a telephone box with that number. Is there anymore or is it to late for a rethink?

I hope to be out all day during the day, and haven't the stamina to 'play out' in the evening too.
Low attendance is only to be expected on a holiday weekend. I hope the meets continue, because I do hope to get to some of them

Vasomotor Rhinitis - I have found that spraying salt water up the nose morning and night helps a lot (for ordinary colds too)
To Google search - Neti nasal washing - a yoga practice - I bought a specially shaped squeezy bottle for squirting purposes, but I think one of the small mineral water bottles which have a squirting cap might do the same.
The yoga websites abut Neti will tell you what strength of saline solution to use. By doing this last thing at night, reduces the 'post nasal drip' of catarrh during the night and so reduces the coughing on waking.
The costs are negligible but make a big difference.

Hi everyone ! Back from me jollies this morning with a nice tan ! I will be there come hell, high water and poss no babysitter but the litlle madame may have to come too ! The Club have a home match on Sunday and a 20/20 on Monday so a good chance of the real ale getting drunk itf there's any left !
