It was attached to the karma removal and I didn't make it public but let's just say he didn't take too well to a little criticism !

Oh, well, fair enough. Not the best way to get customers.

I suppose at the end of the day it was a new business and he was being passionate about it.

I didn't see what he said, just the furore it created, but I still think folk should judge the place purely on its merits....and Lindsay, if I am correct it was in the first few days of it opening that you went in...so it was just getting going.

We don't eat out very often these days, but I would be prepared to give it a go.

Hey you guys I'd just like to say a big thankyou for realising that nothing nasty was ever meant by my previous comments. If you only knew me then maybe you would understand that that's just my sense of humour. I appreciate all the good feedback and thanks for giving us a chance & just to let you know Mick and Rob are top chefs.

Was going to try it out 17th June Ian (joint birthday treat for myself and son).. got to door at a lunch time, to look at opening times. Unfortunately, only serve Fri/Sat evenings. Realise we are not city dwellers, but any chance you will extend these evening openings ?

Didn't go in obviously, but a lady came out as I was looking and stated that she had only had soup and a sandwich, but was 'absolutely beautiful'.

Called round for Sunday lunch today, there was a choice of five starters and five main courses. Well worth the £5.95 per head even Siobhan managed two courses.

And the sticky toffee pudding was delicious.

I can understand your standpoint......in many cases i have 'cut my nose off to spite my face'....but as I have matured(got older....whatever) I have come to realise that the only person who misses out because of this attitude is ME!
Someone once said to me' Don't let little disputes ruin great chances to experience pleasure'....I called that person a smart aleck(or words to that effect)...but have had to eat my words...because they were right.

Swallowing your pride is like a 2lb loaf.......you can slice it thin and eat it over a week or even two.

I am not adverse to swallowing my pride, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong and I generally hold me hand up, eating the well-known humble pie.

However, I didnt like Ians attitude, and since he would be the one profitting, I wont go there. I think it is quite easy to come on here, offending people, without realising who is behind the usernames. If Ian had played this well, who knows how much extra business could have been attracted. Part of being a business owner is to take the good with the bad, and its how you handle the nasty stuff that matters.

Margaret Pilkington 30-06-2008 10:42

Re: Lily Mae's

But Ian isn't hiding behind a username, and to be fair he has come on here and apologised for the offence he didn't know he had caused......that is something that not many folk would do.
I am one of those stubborn old birds too...but I am trying to mellow.
