Eastern Promise, Blackburn Road.

I took Alec out for a meal last night, decided on going to the newly renovated curry house Eastern Promise, Blackburn Road.

For starters Alec had Sheesh Kebabs with salad and different sauces and i had Shami Kebabs again with salad and sauces. You do get two each so we swapped one with each other.

I ordered Lamb Karahi, boiled rice and chapati and Alec ordered Steak and Chips with a chapati. Again a side dish of salad with sauces was served.
The food was 10/10 and highly recommended. All this with a can of coke (water in a jug is served with the meal for free) came to £18.15

As you go in through the doors is a refridgerated display with gateux and trifles :D.

Will deffo be going again soon.

Another Curry house? This really is pathetic. What is Accy doing - trying to compete with Brick lane or the Curry Miles in Manchester, Bradford and Birmingham? This loonacy must stop...let us hope it is the last one for a long, long time and the sooner it is out of business, the better.

its not "another" takeaway

they've just moved from where they previously where on blackburn road - their old place was knocked down to make way for the health centre...

not been yet... dont have much liking for takeaways

Lets be fair mani it used to be a shop on every corner now it's a takeaway......no getting away from it.

If you tried them all you would either be obese or dead.

Nothing wrong with take aways.

The more there is.. The less you have to stumble after a night out.

Eastern Promise Restaurant

Well it took a long time doing the place up but now at last they are open, (this will be old news to some of you but I don't go past there very often).

The guy that has done it up used to have a smaller shop further up the road until re-devolopement took his place away, that place was always popular and busy.

Now, he has opened a take-away and restaurant in what used to be the Hyndburn pub on Blackburn Road.

I arrived just as they where opening up, not a problem as they busied themselves preparing for the evening, I was shown to a comfortable chair and asked to choose from their menu, I hadn't actually planned for a sit down meal but was made to feel so welcome I decided to stay and eat in.

I ordered up a king prawn Biryani with special fried rice, when it eventually arrived it was delicious, well worth waiting for.

The take away area is clean and tidy, (except for the take away menu's sprawled across the counter), and the main room for the Restaurant was bright and clean with plenty of space, (mind you I was on my own so perhaps when they're busy we all might have to breathe in a little).

A few years back some of us accywebbers went for a meal after a meet and enjoyed ourselves at The monte Cristo's, (and in smaller groups all around Accy), if any of you fancy repeating the pleasure at The Eastern Promise, I will be a willing member of the crowd.

:D

So what? I can't remember you being the Landlord back in the 70's & 80's. :D

Just because I was no longer a regular doesn't mean I didn't have the occasional glass in there, (when the karaoke wasn't blasting out too loud!).

Digressing, but had to laugh, sponsored links (may not come up again) were photographs of lots or Oriental girls giving them a number and age, etc., picked up 'The Eastern Promise' I presume ... :D

Ive been there and to be honest....

Food is lacking flavour,
Too expensive,
Ignorant staff
and the choice is too small. Ill give a year before its shut.

Since this place has opened properly i have been in 3 times for takeaways 2 where chicken korma's and the one i got last night was a chicken tikka Marsala they are more expensive than other places but you get a large tray which is full and a Nana bread .
i must admit the chicken korma was nice but the one i had last night chicken tikka Marsala was really good and well worth a try.
They now do delivery free on orders over £8
The chef was pleasant and came over for a chat while my supper was simmering
i have not had a meal in the restaurant yet but will let you know the results when i do
