EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

Easter's only a few weeks away and I'm wondering if anyones up for a few jars and a chat...if so, any idea's where and what's the best date?

mac 25-03-2004 13:07

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

where abouts.

Tealeaf 25-03-2004 13:27

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

Dunno yet. We've met up in the Stag & the Oak Tree in Church before, but it may be a good idea to find somewhere more central or possibly up Manchester Rd way...there's also the date as well. Sunday Evening over Easter may be the best date. It's what everyone else thinks.

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

Sunday evening sounds ok by me, as I am off work Monday, What about the Hargreaves or the Swan?? What time, bear in mind that bank holiday sundays can get quite busy, so we don't want to be too central.:sign_beer

Tealeaf 25-03-2004 14:50

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

Yeah....and it helps if you can hear youselves talk, so we don't want a Disco bar...

Roy 25-03-2004 18:27

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

wish i could come!!! Never mind, we'll definately have to have a few pints when i get back!

WINGY 25-03-2004 19:04

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

Sounds good to me Tea, we can prob make it just about any night and any pub, so will just go with the flow.

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

There is a sponsored Ben Nevis climb going on at the Stanley Ground on Easter Sunday,is that when you were hoping to meet up?We may be able to meet up after if my partner can still move [its unlikely!]It's all for club funds if you would like to get involved send me a pm! :) :wave8: :wave8:

Tealeaf 29-03-2004 12:30

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

King Street is pretty central but it's a long time since I've been there...do they have Real Ale? Still, it's not strictly neccessary...King Street is fine by me...Anyone got better ideas?

Mick 29-03-2004 12:32

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

King st is ok with me what time ?

mez 29-03-2004 12:34

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

i go to king st & its got a nice lounge & on sunday nights it gets a passing trade so its not to busy or too quiet,a pint of smooth is £1--80p not too bad mmmm

Tealeaf 29-03-2004 12:45

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

Eh? £1.80 for a super-nitrate? It's £1.65 for Holts or a guest real ale in the Stag....and I only pay £1.68 for a similar pint of Sam Smiths Nitrate down here...£1.80?

mez 29-03-2004 12:47

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

was £1--60 a month ago //but at least you can hear & talk in there // or wot about the lounge in pioneer club thats nice too/

Tealeaf 29-03-2004 12:52

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

..Unfortunatly I'm not a CIU member & it's possible there's a few on here who are not either. We can't go anywhere were some people might not be able to get in....I thought King Street was now a pub, rather than a club?

mez 29-03-2004 12:57

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

yes it is, thats y the beers gone up as well as the budget? but the town is very busy on sun nights , i think the young ones could call in meet us older ones, then go & do their own thing // its over to you tea , its your call ill follow .

Tealeaf 29-03-2004 13:01

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

King Street is fine by me...as long as everyone can get in, we can have a decent chat (no Karioke, no Disco, no Nonsense)..it's fine. Unless anyone else has any ideas?

Mick 29-03-2004 13:36

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

I have'nt been ito Accy town centre on a weekend evening for almost 20 years....is it as dangerous as they say? I won't get mugged, will I?

lettie 29-03-2004 16:11

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

:drunk: I'll be there, don't know for how long, as sometimes go out with the girls on Bank Holiday Sunday, so may be meeting them later, but then again may not.. Accy's not that rough Tealeaf, true, I have had one or two close calls but the majority of incidents I've had on a night out have actually been out of town.

Mick 29-03-2004 16:27

lettie 12-04-2004 11:03

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

My hangover is actually not as bad as usual, but my 13 year old sister has just been round to visit and has bought me an Easter egg (probably due to my incessant moaning about never getting one). She's a little sweetie, but I can't face chocolate just yet... Maybe later..

WINGY 12-04-2004 11:41

ShortStuff 12-04-2004 19:46

Re: EASTER - A BEER & A CHAT

Yep good night - unfortunately my hangover was very big, due to the fact Less made the decision that I should have pints so I wouldn't have to go to the bar as much! It was really nice to meet everyone & I'm sure I was involved in some very deep & meaningful conversations - but I can't remember one of them!

Len 12-04-2004 19:59
