East Lancs Railway
9 Attachment(s)
This morning i decided that Reece and i where going to go to Bury, now thats nothing new for us, we go at least twice a month, £3.60 each for a day rover on't bus n bobs yer uncle....
After spending a couple of hours looking around and buying stuff in Bury i decided that we'd go down to the ELR and get the train back to Rawtenstall instead of the bus. It cost me £10 for both of us one way to Rawtenstall (more than my day rovers had cost lol) but its not often we go on that train so i didnt mind, i used to go on it most weekends when i lived in Rossendale as a teenager...Reece loved it Heres a few pics i took at Bury Station |

Re: East Lancs Railway
Hi Emzy, fares are shown on the website link I gave on my previous post to this as well as the timetable. The fare allows travel to/from bury, bouncy castles and ride at Rawtenstall, punch and judy show and face painting at bury as well as rides on Thomas. Hope this helps!

Re: East Lancs Railway
Hey;
Just a bit of information on the ELR You can buy a member type card for £5 which gets discounts for a whole year! It would make a £6 journey from Bury to Rawtenstall drop down to £2 meaning you would have saved 80% of the price in one journey, bargain! |
Re: East Lancs Railway

you can only buy those if you live in Rossendale |

I didnt want to sound like I was rubbing it in then but it does seem that way :( Sorry for the miss-info (unless anyone lives in rossendale ) |
Re: East Lancs Railway
lol dont be sorry, you did nothing wrong :D
i wish there had been a discount card like that when i lived in Loveclough, i used to go on that train nearly every weekend, cost me a fortune when i was a kid lol |
Re: East Lancs Railway
Been years since I last went on the ELR. ;)
Might try to see if o/h fancies a trip sometime  |
Re: East Lancs Railway
It was this time last week I was on it
Some of the people from the Rossendale Forum had a walk from Rawtenstall to Bury (stopping off at every pub lol) The train back does seem a little short, the journey takes 30 minutes to run from Bury back to Rawtenstall, but thats with a 15 minute stop at Ramsbottom. Also when the sign says "dont lean out the window" its a good idea to follow it, hot lumps of coal in the eye and face arnt fun  |
Re: East Lancs Railway
ah we went on diesel mrPK, so we could hang our heads out the window ;) lol
