Re: The Piano Men Are Coming To Ossy Civic Theatre..!!

Hi Guys, I thought I would include some information about the main guys in the show, it promises to be a great night, hope to see you there!!

Artistes Biographies

Vaughan Kennedy (Barry Manilow)
Vaughan Kennedy is blessed with the rare gift of being a naturally talented pianist as well as an accomplished popular singer.

With a wide repertoire from the classics to contemporary music, his concert and cabaret performances have taken him to venues throughout the U.K and Europe and have won the acclaim of audiences everywhere.

Born in Blackpool and educated at Rossall School, it has always been Vaughan’s ambition to perform widely in theatre. The realisation of this dream came true when; already an established act he performed in his very own ‘an audience with...’ concert in June 2002 at Lytham St Anne’s, with the help of five, very talented west end musicians and a 30 piece choir.

Since then Vaughan’s career has gone from strength to strength, he has the accolade of being the only artiste to spend a summer season performing the music of Barry Manilow on Blackpool’s famous North Pier in the show, ‘Viva Las Vegas’.

Vaughan enjoys sharing his great love of music, he actively supports a number of Charities including; the NSPCC, The Salvation Army, Macmillan Windmill Cancer Appeal among many others, with his most recent Charity performance at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre with a host of celebrities.

Andy Mudd (Billy Joel)
Andy Mudd is quite simply one of the finest musicians in the UK. His competence as a pianist is second to none and as such, is always in demand by major recording artistes. Not only is he an accomplished musician, Andy is also very strong vocally.

Andy is a born entertainer and always enjoys a fabulous rapport with his audience wherever he performs with his light sense of humour and evident musical ability.

More recently Andy has firmly established himself as Musical Director to the internationally famous Joe Longthorne performing at major venues throughout the UK and abroad.

His portrayal of the music of Billy Joel is unrivalled and one that will captivate any audience.

This sounds absolutely ghastly. I think I would rather spend the evening down an Ossy sewer.

Yes it has.

My dad had tickets but someone from the theatre rang the other day to say that it had been cancelled and to call in for his money back.

Apparently there were only him and 10 others who had bought tickets......what a shame. :(

The Piano men are coming, but the audience aren't.

Now no one's coming.

It's a shame for the people who wanted to see the show, all ten of them, but I hope whoever keeps booking these boring tribute acts, has taken note.

I hate to keep harking back to the days when we in Hyndburn had a varied and original theatre programme, but we did...and it was well attended.

I was at one contemporary dance show, in Accy Town Hall, that was sold out, and there were many other well attended visiting theatre companies here in Hyndburn, and it makes a miserly ten seem, well pathetic.

Oh come on Rindi the Piano men are coming didn't really light the blue touch paper did it, but I supose they were only trying to cater for all taste, but sadly it looks like it was not a lot of peoples cup of tea

Are 'tribute' acts anyone's cup of tea?

I was dragged to one, and that wasn't very well attended either.

Tribute acts sometimes are a good substitute for the real thing, but when the 'real thing' is rubbish no-one is interested

Roll up, roll up!

You can still but tickets, on Hyndburn Borough Council's site, for The Piano Men.

Guide to Hyndburn - what's on Oswaldtwistle

Why does this not suprise me?

There's nothing like being up to date, and as usual they're nothing like up to date.

But tickets?

Yeah, but no, but yeah, but... I meant to type 'buy' tickets.

Damn, I hate that disappearing edit button.

The one that disappears the very second you see a mistake.
