Year of Culture update

I've started putting together a monthly email newsletter of events and activities going on in Hyndburn. To download the February issue go to www.hyndburn2009.co.uk

You can be put direct on to the mailing list to automatically receive a copy by emailing [email protected]

If you know of any events or activities coming up please feel free to send them by the 25th of the month before (newsletters published on 1st of every month) for inclusion.

A logo is also available for adding to any publicity to show that you're supporting the Year of Culture. Any community group or organisation can add the logo to their event - again, email for details.

Gosh, that is mysterious isn't it, I wonder how that can have happened.

Perhaps because you're such good friends with Cllr Britcliffe and it's his pet project. ;)

Or perhaps it's because you're a prominent member of a local community group who would like to promote their events and activities through this initiative. ;)

Have you got a logo yet for this 'Year of Culture'? If not, maybe you should hold a competition to get one.

We could get that local lesbian street artist, who's leaving her 'tag' all over the place, to do it.

Kool kulture.

The March issue of the Hyndburn Arts newsletter is now available for download from index

Take time to read it - there are announcements about two forthcoming events which couldn't be much different from each other.

Strictly Come Dancing Stars will be launching a dance week at Accrington Town Hall in July - tickets on sale from 14th March.

Renowned feminist Germaine Greer will be visiting Hyndburn in June as part of the Week of Wondering.

If you want to be put directly on to the mailing list for the newsletter email me at [email protected]

I am a fan of Germaine Greer - amazed that you 'couped' her - will make an effort to get to that one
