Hi all,

Im hoping to do an event in Accrington well its on our list we have 7 to do in the Northwest. We are looking for pub venues with large car parking space. would be appriciated if anyone had any suggestions , info, or contact details. the event is family fun based feel, with prizes, give-a-ways, a very special guest apperance. and much more..Seen as I am doing the event for Accrington people I thought it would be nice for you all to have imput. this event is going to be very fun for all ages

You could try the Brewers arms on Thwaites road in Ossy

or the Oaklea Tavern Whalley road

its an No Limit / Make A Wish entertianment event for the Accrington people.

Before i contact them
Does the below venue have a large carpark as a big stage needs to be errected on the carpark?

We will need some photographers to cover the event as we have a special celebirty guest comming down, and the local paper may cover the story ! we are currently in the process of collecting items from businesses and local people for prizes- give-a-ways, Auction ect.


We want to make this day special and its going to be one of a kind. ill be posting more information as we go along !

a pub venue is just more suitable for this kind of event, family event has toilets, bar / drinks. ect and a large carpark for us to set up on. other than that no reason.

Because i was just thinking the superbowl carpark could provide loads of space, plus it has a bar and toilets, doubt you will find a pub with a bigger car park than that.

Might be worth considering, also its easier for people to find as everyone knows where it is, where as with pubs there are that many with the same/similar names its easy for people to end up in the wrong location.

There is enough room to park a lorry trailer in that carpark . would that do for your stage ?

Suppose it depends how big a gig you expect it to be. And whether said pub would have enough loos? There is the Oddfellows in Clayton, and I'm not sure about now but think the car park further down used to be theirs.

What about the Dunk? Would they not react favourably to a charitable cause on their grounds?

whats the Dunk? lol not from the area but my parents are. No the 7 places for such event is as follows:

Accrington,Liverpool,Warrington,Runcorn,Blackpool, Southport and Wigan

is it in a busy area do you know? need to keep this event central for ease of access, i have contacted superbowl and awaiting a response.

How about the Peel Park Pub on Turkey Street or the Whittakers opposite the Cemetary?

Both the Royal Oak, and the Sparth Manor
on Sparth rd , Clayton Le Moors..
have large car parks and have held charity events
with stages in the past

Next time your over we can have a drive round all the pubs listed and you can then decide all the best for your Dad:D

Now thats the best excuse I have heard in a while for a pub crawl. :p

This gig thing I wouldnt mind seeing if I can time a few days hols when its on. :D

its nice to have your support on this event which means so much to me and my brother. Bowling place nr mc donalds its out the question as we not allowed to use the carpark ;0( well one down lots to go.

Went to find the brewrey pub but got lost so think ill take my dad with me to have alook this week wish me luck lol

I was talking about this with Mick this evening. I suggested on Broadway in the centre of Accyington. Events have been held there before.

I think Gayle on here did something there last summer so should know who you need to contact.

broadway sounds great as there are lots of shops nearby and accrington observer is praticly on it
+ the multi story carpark is nearby and everybody knows it :)

Make sure you give me plenty on notice when the event is on so we can organise things so we can come sounds good and im sure you would love us to be there! xxxx

peel park pub would be best venue as they could open the school car park for the stage.

would think the superbowl would allow you the car parking space as they still have day to day business to do.

You can also try Ozzy Mills. They sometimes hold charity events there, round the back were the picnic area is.

Not many open spaces are there ? Would probably have to pay large amounts to pitch on most of them i.e. Ossy Mills and Broadway. The pubs I expect would be almost charge free as they would be glad of the custom for the day.

Only other place I can think of is the Poplar W.M.C's car park.

The quicker the bus station is moved and we have a town square the better !

Katex - wash your mouth out - Hyndburn has more open space per head, than any other area in Lancashire. Tons of places to hold events - Broadway, 8 parks, Sports Centre car park, playing fields like Whiteash in Ossy or Memorial Park in Gt Harwood or even the green space near St James' Church. :D


Anyway, apart from that, I'm not really sure what you're trying to do. Is it a music concert or a fete, is it a charity event or free event, could it be tied in with the carnival or any other event or does it have to be a stand alone event?
