Good Local Italian Food

I am looking for a good Italian Restaurant and heard about Checco’s Trattoria Pizzeria just wondered what it was like, or if you could recommend any others within approx 5 miles of accrington?

monte cristo has always been decent when we go as has La Veranda at Hassy.

Francos in Ossy has a decent rep but I haven't been for years so can't comment personally

I've always had a good meal at Monte Cristo.

Both Franco's and Checco's are very good, nice freshly made food at resonably prices! I always think its a good sign if they can make you something you like that perhaps isn't on the Menu, and both places have been able to do this for me.

Best Regards - Taggy

went to Monte's again on Friday, they were happy to make Siobhans up specially with extra bits. as you said, flexible if possible is always a good sign.

Just wondered what you consider is a good Italian restaurant ? Have been to all the aforementioned and many more throughout the U.K., mainly due to organised functions, etc.

All seem about the same to me. Having said that, not my favourite type of food, cannot stand pasta dishes .. chewy glued paste with varying sauces, and their meat dishes too rich and vomit encouraging. Think probably just the surroundings that are different is the decider.

Just love their tomato garlic bread, but then just tend to order salad and a Polo pizza ... can't eat much of it as distended stomach food.

Only consolation is the dry white wine they offer and dollop of ice cream :D
