Normally a right royal rip off but at the moment only £6 entry each, so thats us off to Blackpool today..........

you won't be doing much though, the circus isnt on yet, jungle jims has shrunk and thats about it, i doubt you can get up to the top of the tower today, due to the wind speed and unless you like watching people dance then its boring, i go for the circus everytime i go in the tower, theres not much else to do

Circus is crap anyway.....kids like Jungle Jims, wind speed is fine thank you and my mum who holidayed regularly in Blackpool as a child has never been up and she likes Ballroom dancing.......so go on try and spoil our day out as much as you wants.....its not gonna happen so:tongueout you bloody misery......:D

Don't care what you say about Blackpool Tower. It has always been my favourite place. Been in Australia since 1968 but have fond memories. Visited with my SIL Bernie when last over in UK. Coming HOME soon and it is one place I will be going too. Will dance definitely as on a promise by a certain person who danced with me many years ago.

So many memories of childhood and teen years - not finished yet either. Let's face it what is a £5 nowadays? I shall be in there in May, and I will enjoy every moment of it.

Must admit to never being up the Tower ever !! :eek: I know, missed it twice as a Kid, school trip to the Circus but Had Mumps & Measles respectively. Then left Home Lived in Germany last 26 years, but always home for 2 weeks in the Summer usually take a run up to Blackpool/Fleetwood, but didn't bother 2007-2008, because in 2006 we went & it seemed so run down & "Dirty" also vastly over priced.

Went back to give it another chance last year & if anything I'd say it seemed to be worse despite all the modernisation & regeneration that has gone into the Town. I don't know maybe it's just me, but I felt like a stranger in a place I used to really enjoy as a nipper on day trips with the family. :(

Do they still have the aquarium ? used to be a tank with conger eels with their heads poking out of 'caves' that scared the heck out of me when I was a young un :D

Yep, the aquarium is still there minus the giant turtles who left in 2003 for a bigger home elsewhere....

Is Professor Peabody's still there? That was far superior to Jungle Jim's when I was a kid but no one has mentioned it so far which doesn't bode well.

Possibly, but it's been about 25 years since I was there and in my mind it was under the Tower.

Yes, there was a massive Death Slide which I bottled out of when I got to the top plus some great little go-car things on caterpillar tracks.

Jungle Jims has been in the tower since i was little Ken and i'm older than you, don't think Peabody's was ever there

I went to Jungle Jim's after I'd been to Peabody's and was crushingly disappointed because it was lousy in comparison. Can't believe it's shut down, it's the only place I've ever won anything from one of those claw-grab machines!!!

Peabodies was definately in the Winter Gardens, if you go to the main shopping street in Blackpool, don`t know what its called but the one with the Disney Shop, Body Shop etc walk up to the Winter Gardens up at the top, it was in the big empty room on just to the right, you can look through the windows and see the room where it was. I used to love it in there, the death slide was a corker.
