Anyone else been?

What a night, cracking food and something different than the usual Indian, Chinese and Italians round here.

I was invited to an old woman's birthday there yesterday, had heard of this place a few week ago and it was highly recommended so I was looking forward to going although not too sure what to expect.
There was 12 of us plus the old woman, any more than 6 and you can go for their table buffet which is well worth the £15 a head, but its a bit weird really, were all used to getting a small starter and a larger main coarse - aren't we?
Well here it seems the other way round, you start off with spicey chicken legs, jerk chicken (that good I had 3 pieces of this) kebab skewer, dumplings, plantain, roast potatoes, corn on the cob, some kind of pie/pastie that was really nice, black bean salad, coleslaw, rice and peas - and I'm sure i have forgot some of it :)
Well after you have tucked into all that and ready for busting they ask you if your ready for your curry
The curry was gorgeous and a bit on the hot side too, one of them were it gets hotter after every mouthful so beware if you plan on going :D
Bar downstairs has no draught beers and limited spirits, you can buy drinks in the bar upstairs though and take them down to the restaurant (Restaurant is in the celler)
Give it a try, the bar upstairs is open to anyone, live singer on Saturday nights but the place was a bit quiet - shame really.
The OLD woman loved it, she might even be along soon and tell us what she thought of the night, that's if she can remember going there, I think dementure's setting in a bit

Sounds good, may have to pay a visit, as you say it makes a change from the usual Indian, Chinese and Italian.

Great night out, foods excellent and plenty of it! Well worth the money. Highly recommended if your looking for nice friendly atmosphere, good food and something a little different.

As for the "owd" woman, she doesn't remember a great deal afterwards, but that could have something to do with the shots of sambuca and not dementia lol,:alc: and, she was still partying long after you had tucked yourself up into bed :tongueout
