Volunteer Clayton Le Moors
after a 4 year wait the volly re opens sunday afternoon
good to see a pub rising from the ashes ( so to speak ) :alright: |
Re: Volunteer Clayton Le Moors
used to go in there with an ex mate of mine, you'll probably know her if you're from Clayton Beechy, just think 'the biggest gob in clayton' and you'll realise who she is
it always seemed quiet when we where in there, do you know Joe Heyes by any chance? |
Re: Volunteer Clayton Le Moors
im certainly from clayton flashy and over the years theres been quite
a lot with big gobs that i can recall might bump into you if you start going back in the vol wellington has just changed hands as well |
Re: Volunteer Clayton Le Moors
Did it re-open then ? Noticed did say December 10th at one time, but didn't appear to be anywhere near .. still looked run down last week.
So, that would be 4 re-opened in Clayton : Old England for Ever. The Royal . Forts Arms. Volunteers. and Wellington safe. Wondered if anyone had been in the Forts ... think they have 'upmarketed' it and does look nice from the outside... 'course can't go in on me own. Did hear that a certain Cllr. had some interest in this .. but only verbal, so best not to repeat. |
Re: Volunteer Clayton Le Moors
I remember going in there when I was about 20 and was told I was too young they had a new rule where you have to be over 40 to drink there, but had been going there every week after work on a friday up until that point

I always admit when I am wrong, and do many a U-turns on debates because people have put forward a more valid point. And I am never afraid to ask questions on subjects if I don't know. Bernard was just responding to the bit about a councillor having an interest in the Fort's Arms ... nothing wrong with that though ... hope it thrives. :p:D |
Re: Volunteer Clayton Le Moors

It's OK Heth .. thought I would let him sweat a bit.. LOL. He is forgiven due to the fact he entered the word 'young' even though I am older than him (mind you was a wink after that remark) ... :D |

Re: Volunteer Clayton Le Moors
Maybe if they plant a few trees down Whalley Rd, turn it back into a village. I supose thats asking a bit too much.

Re: Volunteer Clayton Le Moors
The pub was re opened by Caril and Phil who had the Walmsley in Great Harwood until a few months ago and decided to give up pub life (due to robbing brewery gits) but have been sucked back in once again
good luck to them in their new pub and they will certainly liven it up anyway :) |
