Saw the interview in the observer this week and remembered the ace meet we had at the victoria in harwood, we said we would go back one summer as they have that huge lawn at the back. I reckon it would be ideal....

Real ale, a nice pub, friendly, etc.

I'd forgotten that it was that night.

You had to leave nearly as soon as we got there.

:(

Still, on the bright side.

See a penny, pick it up...then swallow it.

All day long your parents will call you a silly little duck.

Have any of you tried the Park pub at edge of Coppice? Great pub, friendly, and great real ale. Could possibly use their back room if it's not already booked. Just an idea but wherever it is, count me in. Just don't tell Garinda, she might come lookin' for me with PB on her arm!

We've had a meet there.

Though being an already busy pub, it was hard to talk to everyone.

Don't give yourself a giddy turn though.

I'll not be looking for you.

;)

People will talk, mainly about how frock shops just aren't the same in Hyndburn these days.

Didn't want to be accused of pickin' on her.

Re: carrying on from the meet thread

Is the Railway on Blackburn road just below the railway station?

I had a ride around Tesco car park on Saturday, 16/07/11, just to see what it is like but never got out of the car. As I came down the road leading to Blackburn road a group of people were just coming out of the pub laughing and joking. I thought they may have been a group of Accy Webbers. It was about 1.30 PM , was it the Webbers meeting?
.

Mick 17-07-2011 08:16

Re: carrying on from the meet thread

We would have been in the Railway at that time but we dont leave till after 2 so not us we where still out back

Gremlin 17-07-2011 09:22

Re: carrying on from the meet thread

Maybe it was you Mick. My wife came out of the hair dressers at 1.15 and then we went into the old Arcade for lunch, (I forgot that bit) back to the car on Church street, round the block and up to Tesco, a few minutes in awe of the parking lot and then out to Blackburn road. Maybe it was after 2 PM.
They looked a jolly lot whoever they were.
.
