Bicardi n coke shandy for me.

But couldnt drink a lot of it.

rockrabbit 28-10-2004 04:45

Re: favourite tipple??

dont know how any of you can drink cider the smell of it is enough to make me feel sick used to drink it when i was 16 / 17 , diamond white etc but never touched it since

-pixie 28-10-2004 07:11

Re: favourite tipple??

Becks. And plenty of it.:)

entwisi 28-10-2004 07:55

Re: favourite tipple??

When thirsty a nice bottle or three of Thwaites East Lancs Brown Ale drunk from a half pint glass topped up regularly or a pint of Golden(Bitter/Lager mix)

When in a quality but beer mode a bottle of Gold Label with large Woods 100 Dark rum chaser

When in shorts mood, Vanilla Stolichnaya or Dark Rum(see above) or a large G&T

Wine must be St Emillion or Chateau Neuf du Pape or on a hot sunny day either a good Rose or a very well chilled Beaujolais Villages

When suffering a cold you can't beat a good Brandy all in or after a meal a nice VSOP in one of these

http://www.cocktail.uk.com/shop/prod...rmer+%26+Glass

just to warm it properly and release the aroma

I used to love a pint of Strongbow with a large Pernod in the top but Cider now makes me throw so thats one confimed to the anals of time.

However when I'm not fussy, owt will do(except Glayva which also make me chuck!)

GIN. The more, the merrier!

Re: favourite tipple??

Darby mentioned Islay malts. My favourite tipple and, in my opinion, the best of which is Laphroaig.
A dram of Glenmorangie goes down well as does a tot of Tamnavulin.
Moorhouse's Pendle Witch is a good pint or when it's hot a pint of Stella or Kronenbourg 1664 makes a good job of slaking a thirst.

I'm not surprised you feel sick with the smell of Cider... Diamond White has no right to call itself cider, it's evil stuff. The closest thing to Diamond White in this universe is embalming fluid..:D Try Kingston Press or good old Strongbow, steer clear of Woodpecker, Blackthorn or anything with Scrumpy or Diamond in the title and you'll be fine..

Re: favourite tipple??

Lager does it everytime for me,only the weaker stuff, not stella or anything daft like that, but when it comes to shorts, I was into vodka redbull (pint glass, double--or more vodka and loads of ice.) I realised I was getting old when I changed that for gin and tonic, that's mine for the moment.(until I have my next midlife crisis, then it's cheeky vimto.) :drunk:

Darby 08-11-2004 14:34

Re: favourite tipple??

Just got back from the S of France and Northern Spain. Just had to have a go at Carlos Tercero (Charles the 3rd) Spanish Brandy.........my oh my..............banged mi 'ed against the wall.

I didn't realised that walls moved sideways...or hit you. Was proper poorly for a couple of days. Glad to say I'm back at mi best again!!!!!!!!!

Beware....the horrors of Spanish Brandy!!

lettie 08-11-2004 21:02

Re: favourite tipple??

Sounds like it has a similar kick to it as Metaxa Brandy (the five star stuff) I have to admit after a couple of Brandy Sours in Cyprus the pavements have a horrible habit of moving towards your face at a rapid rate..:D

pendy 09-11-2004 17:18

Re: favourite tipple??

Depends on where and when - red wine (not keen on white unless it's very good), real ale, even been known to drink lager, gin & tonic, single malt scotch, brandy ....

I've even got a taste for orange juice - well, you can't drink metal polish straight, you know.

Sara 21-11-2004 13:53

Re: favourite tipple??
