Am hoping that a visit to the season's first meeting on Thursday evening will pay dividends, so will check it out.

Glad that you caught onto my train of thought Les. I was far too subtle for Katex.

Richard's family owned the Observer. I think this will be one of the highlights of the society's year.

Yes Bob, there can't be much he doesn't know about newspapers in Accrington.

Jan 10th - talk about Tiffany Glass

Can I just mention to folk this will be a FAB talk. Doug Jackson must know more about Tiffany Glass and the Briggs family of Accrington than anyone else I know. He was a friend of Norman Potter, one time curator of Haworth Art Gallery and became interested in the history of the glass through his friendship with Mr Potter.
Well worth a trip to the library, even if its a horrible night!

My, don't these girls scrub up well, although I'd of thought perfume would've been the better option. :)

Hey, I dont need to "lighten up" believe you me!
As to what you say, thats what worries me. Folk will see others have been regularly contributing, but, when they look at the posts, all they will read is rubbish!

A touch over exaggerated don't you think ? They will see what they want to see, an open invite to some local history events & some gentle ribbing going on. Credit the viewers with the ability to at least pick out what's relevant & what's flippancy.

You don't think this is the first or last time a thread has been subjected to a humorous wander do you ? When it happens, instead of getting miffed someone brings it back round again to its origins. Life's to short to be taken to seriously, unwind a little & life's less harsh. :)

It's Kates thread after all & she doesn't appear to be overly upset. ;)

Yeah Dave but why would they want to have a humorous wander on this thread. If these trolls want to draw attention to theirselves, flex their intellectual or comedic muscles let em' start their own thread.

44 posts in 4 years, & now your critisising & telling listers how the threads should be run. If every one posted at your rate there would no Accy Web. By the way you've wandered of thread as well by responding to Dave's post.

Well I've just increased your Posts/Liked ratio by 10% Retlaw, oh the power of the keyboard.
But as you so rightly point out in your big bold font I have wandered off thread, I'm starting a new one called "Wandering off thread" come on over.

I am ever so gratefull for your insight Mr D**kheadP47.
Your a positive asset to the site, especially with your light bending qualities. By the way the PM you sent about the number of likes, if you took any notice you would realise that facility has only been available since Roy's last update. Also I use this so called big bold font because its easier to read, not to make any statement, like some of your posts in your new thread do, you seem to have a large fan club, how many is that now, 1 or 2.
