The micro chipping is on the Tesco Extra car park not the Tesco Express in case anyone is going today

Whats on - Events

I said in a recent meeting that I don't agree with free microchipping of dogs. Someone has to pay for the chips themselves and that should be the dog owner.

When I spoke with Hyndburns dog warden he was expecting to be doing the chip implanting which is taking him away from his real job of catching strays, dealing with nuisance dogs, enforcing dog laws / Hyndburns dog control order and dealing with dog fouling issues.

I think Dogs Trust should ask for a small donation at least. Whenever a free microchipping event is on locally I take Max to ask them to scan him to check his chip and give them a donation.

That is what I said, £5 or the cost of the chip whichever is greater.

Instead of the dog warden microchipping why isn't he out handing out warnings for dogs in a public place without collars and tags with owners name and address on which is already law, instead of helping owners prepare for a law not due for 3 years?

They did over 80 dogs on that day.

On a slightly different subject - the Civic now has a box of dog poop bags. So if you're in the area and you need one just pop in and ask at the office. They're completely free.
