Any-one wishing to become involved must at least be able to mime to the following Anthem:-

Accyweb. (Sung to the tune of Robin Hood)

Accyweb, Accyweb,
Surfing on the net,
Accyweb, Accyweb,
With it's band of men,
Feared by the bad, loved by the good,
Accyweb! Accyweb! Accyweb!

It called the greatest posters
To a tavern thats in Church,
They vowed to help the people of the site,
They handled all the trouble
On the Hyndburn local scene,
And still found the time to whinge.

Accyweb, Accyweb,
Surfing on the net,
Accyweb, Accyweb,
With it's band of men,
Feared by the bad, loved by the good,
Accyweb! Accyweb! Accyweb!

P.S. Any improvement on the above lyrics will be gratefully received!

There is room for all in this one, the script hasn't been written yet so all you have to do is use a bit of imagination and create your own character!

The part of Made Marian is perfect for you, most women would jump at the chance of living in a forest with a bunch of rough tough bandits. That is why you couldn't possibly be Maid Marian after all you'd have to do something to keep warm on those cooler evenings, plus it would be absolute heaven for you, a captive audience with nowhere to go in the evening & you would be able to read your vagina monologues to them!

No longer would they be known as:-

Robin Hood & his Merry Men!

The problem is that rough tough men probably all have dirty knees and you know what I think about that. lol

But, in the interest of the art I will accept this part as you're quite right it was MADE for me. lol

One question though, which of course, I have to ask being a right-on feminist type - why didn't I get chance to audition for Robin? Surely you aren't typecasting me purely on the basis of my sexuality. I'm quite sure I look better in green tights than most men around here.

Re: The Accyweb adventures of Robin Hood

A couple of things????

First, l know understand the urgency of your pm's Mr Less. I thought this thread was about Staggers stealing ackers from the rich to give to the poor, so at first Red Rind didn't see the need to comment, l was just happy with the redistribution of wealth.

Secondly why is the thread so wide? I tend not to read anything at all Less has posted for fear of whiplash, after having to move my head from left to right to read what is trying to fit my screen.

Thirdly, any unease in the dressing room on Dougs part, is because l will have ultimate sanction on any costumes. Am l not the only member here with a Fashion/Textiles B.A. [Hons.]??? My interest in your tights Dougy Darling is purely professional.

Fourthly 'dirty dancing' with Rupert Everett at the Daisy Chain at The Fridge in Brixton in 1988 hardly qualifies me as a thespian. My greatest West End triumph on the stage is not for a family site!

Lastly l am very excited about my part, as much as some other members are. When do we start rehearsals?

Less 21-07-2005 11:12

Re: The Accyweb adventures of Robin Hood

The problem is that rough tough men probably all have dirty knees and you know what I think about that. lol

As you are probably aware tights have a tendency to hide quite alot of lifes little imperfections so dirty knees would be amongst the least of your worrys.

But, in the interest of the art I will accept this part as you're quite right it was MADE for me. lol

This is accyweb, as you should already have realised art has a very low priority here, The part is more like some low budget carry on theme.

One question though, which of course, I have to ask being a right-on feminist type - why didn't I get chance to audition for Robin? Surely you aren't typecasting me purely on the basis of my sexuality. I'm quite sure I look better in green tights than most men around here.

Until Doug suggested that we turn this into some form of xmas panto it was supposed to be slightly more up market similar to one of the plays what Ernie Wise wrote.
However the roles could now be reversed we will need a robin Hood that can be a thigh slapper, if you consider yourself as a bit of a slapper then perhaps you could persuade Staggers to do a bit of role reversal with you? (Personally I wouldn't want to put on a pair of tights that he's been wearing and our budget won't run to buying a new pair just for you).

Well thats enough about you I have to get to the Stag and practice my lines,

"Bar-Keep, fetch me more ale",

"Hey wench, wine for the Sheriffs men and I".
(Cue the old joke about a howling dog).

Re: The Accyweb adventures of Robin Hood

This is rapidly descending from from high theatre to panto.

In that case can l baggsie two lines?

Garind-'Forty miles to London and still no sign of Dick!'

Garinda-'Why l do declare, l swear the Princes's Ball's get bigger every year!'

I thank you.

Re: The Accyweb adventures of Robin Hood

I'm sorry in the interest of authenticity you will be in tights, l'm afraid stockings just won't cut the mustard!!!

Being 'clean and smooth' in Sherwood Forerst, so to speak, should alleviate any unsightly chaffing on your part.

Re: The Accyweb adventures of Robin Hood

You leave my parts out of it. No Tights.................and there's nothing unsightly or chaffing about my part. I will dress up like everyone else, act daft make a fool of myself for Charity and suffer all the usual insults. But Nict Tights.

Dear Staggers,
the last time we talked of this you said you were more interested in stockings than tights.
If when you put the stockings on your 'goolies' look like 'chipped potatoes' you have a serious problem and l suggest you see a doctor, as l think you may have a hernia.

Please do not worry to much about what you all will be wearing at the moment, concentrate on getting into character, dress rehersals will not start until the end of November.

Mind you he could just be designing a costume for me more like this:-

* Bagpuss as the Sheriff of Nottingham (Try as he might he just can't get the girl).

* Graham Jones as the Deputy Sheriff of Nottingham (With him as second in command the sheriff won't need to watch his back will he?).

* Acrylic Bob as Prince John (Taxes? I'll tell you what to do with your Taxes!).

* Park381 as Sherwood Forest (Watch out for the empty bottles and teenagers).

The above people have not shown any interest in these parts, if you can suggest someone that can fill the gap I think they would be more than welcome!

For example, if a/b cannot lower himself to the part of Prince John perhaps
Len
would like to take on this role he at least doesn't go for a large amount of money!

Although my subscription to Equity may have lapsed, there is plenty of life in this old 'hoofer' yet.

Sticking my 'boat race' on what l can only assume is either Lena Zavaroni or Julian Clary's body, is a cruel slur on my pins. Some of you have been lucky enough to have seen my legs, one or two- no names, at very close quarters!;) They will vouch that my sturdy thighs are big enough to take the part of either of the mighty oaks where Robin and his merry men hang out.

It's not that I'm not interested in the part in fact I'm honoured you choose me. That fact is I'm not an actor and to be honest after I posted my lost love story I would rather keep a low profile as the director may reject me for having dirty knees (again).

Don't fret, I for one would not force you into something you don't want to do.

However, just use your imagination and join in, your contribution could be excellent if you let yourself be SILLY!

Shouldn't you be Prince John - if anyone is going to be collecting taxes it should be someone with a name like yours.

I think you were on hols when this started, however we have been thinking of asking Sparkologist to operate the lights and if he accepts we will need a very good First aider.
So if we get the cast to sign waivers guaranteeing that they won't have injuries above the waist would you be available for the position?

Hmmmmm, I could be first aider. If Sparks is doing the lighting I'd better refresh my memory on treatment of electrocution and soft tissue injuries from shattered glass.:D

Re: The Accyweb adventures of Robin Hood

Oi, whose in charge Less? You may be funding this but butt out.

Sparks will be good on pyrotechnics...... l mean lighting, but Lettie will defo be on the stage.

She could play the part of Shoey McFee the happy cobbler, only because she could provide her own props though.

Technical Director my arse!

You put up the money that is all. Technically that makes you what is known as an Angel in theatrical terms, which seems..................just.................so not RIGHT!

By the way Larry Grayson was taught by me at the Nuneaton School of Performing Hoofers so make your choice Angel[a] DARLING!!!!!

I think cheap jokes about dead gay comedians stinks. I think we should “shut that door” right away. Mr technical Director, Sir. I think you should sack him and give the job to someone with Artistic merit, sensitivity and flair…......:D I bet Mr Britcliffe would jump at the chance....

Gay? Mr Grayson may have been close to his Mother, but also had a 'lady friend'!

Isla St. Clair was also used to his off screen macho charms, apparently.

I think if this is your best alternative we will stick to garinda, after all he has never admitted in public that he isn't up for it.

But Britcliffe would turn the whole thing into a pantomime it would be full of foot in mouth jokes and would never stand a chance of running to budget!

That's so sweet, but I would prefer you on your knees begging, rather than this grudging acceptance.

By the way I didn't 'slay' the bananas, I peeled them back suggestively and uncovered a shocking display of fruity depravity.
