The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening Categories

I've looked at all the posts on the other thread and I've had a few pms too and here is the definitive list of categories for the award ceremony. I couldn't include all the suggestions or we'll be there all night on awards evening.

FUNNIEST THREAD
BEST SERIOUS ISSUE THREAD
MOST RANDOM THREAD WANDER
BEST DRAMA QUEEN
BEST AVATAR
BEST JOKE/INNUENDO OR PITHY PUT DOWN
BEST MAD RANT

PLUS, WE WILL BE HAVING THE FIRST INDUCTEE TO THE ACCYWEB HALL OF FAME FOR SERVICES ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY

So now, we need nominations. I'll consider all the nominations in the previous thread as well but we really need lots more.

You can either post in this thread or send me a pm. Make sure you put the category at the top of your post so that I don't have to guess what category you're nominating people for.

We've got this far so any suggestions for when we should hold this awards evening?

I was thinking of a Sunday evening, that's when we're most often all sat at our pcs.

Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening Categories

So, it's decided then. The first Accyweb Award ceremony will start at 8.30pm on Sunday 25th September 2005.

At exactly 8.30pm I will start a new thread for the ceremony. 8.30pm to 9.00pm will be red carpet time, as you come on to the thread you'll be invited to describe how you're dressed. Garinda, would you like to be our fashion correspondent, interviewing people as they arrive on the red carpet? At 9.00pm the ceremony will officially start.

If you'd like to be one of the presenters of awards please pm me and you can open a golden envelope on the evening. I'll give you instructions on how it will work on the evening.

Get your glad rags ready, write your acceptance speeches and practice your fake smiles for if you lose. See you all then!

By the way, there is still time to get nominations in. Feel free to pm me with them.

Oh no not much time sweeties, must get my evening wear sorted. I will be so annoyed if anyone has the same frock as me. I'm wearing a Stella Mccartney Autumn 2005 design, so you lot better not duplicate or I will just stamp my strappy Jimmy Choos, and go into full diva mode darling.

Ok off to speak to Stella and or course Chritian Lacroix. MMMM decisions, decisions.

I've heard from a reliable source someone is going to wear a Bjork swan dress creation.

We shall see, and my reaction will be barbed if he doesn't pull it off with aplomb.

Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening Categories

I was getting so carried away with organising the ceremony that I almost forgot the voting. So, look for the 8 new threads which have polls on and get voting. All voting is anonymous.

Votes close at 8.30pm Sunday 25th September 2005.

garinda 24-09-2005 10:22

Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening Categories

Although I voted once, can I vote again in catogories were my choices didn't make the final selection?

Gayle 24-09-2005 10:25

Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening Categories

Everyone has to vote on the new poll threads - even if you've already put in votes because really they were just nominations - now you have to vote for your nominations.

Gayle 24-09-2005 10:33

Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening Categories

Yes, to make this absolutely clear. It doesn't matter at this stage whether you have already put your 'vote' in on a thread or by pm - that was purely to get nominations for each category.

We're now at the point where you have to vote on the polls for the eventual winner. If a thread or someone who you nominated didn't get through to the final four in each category you can still vote for one of the ones that did. Likewise, even if you nominated someone you can change your mind and vote differently on the polls.

But, you must vote on the polls or it will not count towards the eventual winner. It kind of takes the element of surprise out of the ceremony tomorrow but it's the fairest way of doing it. I suggest you all place your votes then don't visit the polls again - that way it will be a nice surprise when it's announced.

Gayle 24-09-2005 13:37

Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening Categories

Instead of medals or statues going to the winners, I have decided to give 50 ackers to each of the winners.

Gayle 25-09-2005 18:03

Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening Categories

The voting is hotting up in some categories with it being a very close race to the finish. There is still an hour and a half until voting closes, so if you haven't voted yet in some of the categories now is the time.

See you all at eight thirty.

Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening Categories

The 'mug on the rug' is waiting to see what you are all wearing. You better come up to scratch.

I myself am impecable in dinner suit my Gieves and Hawkes, double fronted voile dress shirt from Turnbull and Asser, and a black satin self tie bowtie, not an elastic jobby! The only hint at frivolity are cufflinks from Asperys, little scottie dogs with rubies for eyes.

Like I said impecable. I even tamed my locks back, for a more manly look.:)

Pleased to see you've made an effort. I just hope people turn up now or it's you and me looking like a prize pair.

Well, I'm here in my Tina Varigos two peice....in bitter chocolate watermarked silk.
For the uninitiated....Tina Varigos is an Australian designer.
The top has a Shawl collar sprinkled very lightly with bugle beads.....just to add to the sparkle of the occasion.....I have my pale coffee coloured satin evening gloves on....and a pair of dangly jet earrings.....will I do.....?

Oh, I forgot to say.....my outfit has a long skirt that is slightly fitted and is split to the knee.
