Weather today on the Eastern fells of the Lakes. At the start line there was a slight drizzle clearing from the South West, at the base of Seat Sandal - 2415’dry with mild breeze and weak sun. Summit of Seat Sandal wind building to strong, dry and sunny. Fairfield - 2863’ at base warm with slight breeze, half way point gale force winds and hail dying out the strong winds and moderate to heavy rain this continued on to the summit which was shrouded in a light mist, on to the summit of Great Rigg, mild breeze and sun shine with continued down to Stone Arthur, some limited light showers down to Grasmere. This was all within a 5 hours period over a distance of 6.5 miles…..and a ****** good day out to boot.
