Isn't it strange E.T. can tug at the heart strings but, the death of seven humans can be watched without any real emotion coming forward! |
Re: Why Oh Why?
Not seen E.T. for ages.
I cried buckets. All sad films make me cry. Mandy, short Circuit,Soldier Blue,Fluke. These are just a few of many that have made me cry over the years. |
Re: Why Oh Why?
Yes I went through a box of Kleenex this afternoon too.
Doesn't take much in a film to set me off with the weepies. |
Re: Why Oh Why?
I never used to cry at any films.....but I have to admit I was a bit moist eyed when I saw ET when it first came out. I saw it at the Odeon.....many moons ago.
I cry at Madame Butterfly.....in fact I have not dared to go and see it because I weep buckets when I listen to it. Music gets to me more than films. |
Re: Why Oh Why?
Whistle Down the Wind with Hayley Mills, it still does.
|
Re: Why Oh Why?
Carousel...maybe it is because it is music and a sad story.
|
Re: Why Oh Why?

Re: Why Oh Why?
I cry at tons of films.
When I was pregnant with Maddie I had a bit of a scare about 27 weeks in. I was rushed to the hospital. They gave me a quick exam and reassured me a little but they told me it was going to be half an hour to an hour before a Doctor could see me. So, they put the TV on and flicked through a few channels. Sense and Sensibility was on so I told them to leave that channel on. I also warned them that if I was crying when they came back to my room that it was not going to be anything to do with the baby situation. Sure enough, half an hour later when the Doctor came in I was in floods of tears but I swear it was just because Hugh Grant had told Emma Thompson that he wasn't married after all. |
Re: Why Oh Why?
Only saw the last 45mins tonight so didn't cry, but remember crying when I saw it for the first time.

Re: Why Oh Why?
The first film that I bawled my eyes out at was Run Wild Run Free starring Mark Lester, when the lights came on in the cinema at the end of the film I felt such an idiot. Think that was in 1968. 1969.

Re: Why Oh Why?
Always love going to a weepy film and watching all the blokes in the audience when the lights come up saying to their girlfriends, 'no I'm not crying, I've just got something in my eye'.

Re: Why Oh Why?

Re: Why Oh Why?
My hubby is a great fan of LHOP.....and he ALWAYS cries at it.

Re: Why Oh Why?
White Christmas gets me - right at the start when bing sings it and then right at the end as well but there are loads of films that gets me in tears mainly from laughter - The Quiet Man does that especially during the fight!

Re: Why Oh Why?
I took the girls to see The Chronicles of Narnia yesterday and even though I've read and reread the books and seen the TV version I still had a sniffle when Aslan was stabbed by that evil woman.
I too cried at ET when I first saw it and I'm an absolute softie in need of the tissues for most films like that. |
Re: Why Oh Why?
Yet to see The Chronicles of Narnia having read the book and seen the original. I try not to be emotional but I suppose we all are sometimes. When I was a kid it was Lassie movies.

Re: Why Oh Why?
I always cry when i watch Titanic, and Homeward bound i cry when i watch anything sad!
|
Re: Why Oh Why?
I cry quite easily at films. But the last time i had a good weep was a couple of weeks ago when i watched Coach Carter, i wept on and off all through the film. What makes it worst is, i don't even think it's even a weepie.
