Winter food

On a cold frosty night like tonight my favourite has got to be broth and dumplings, there's nothing like it to warm you up.

Whats yours

And follow that with a nice dish of home made rice pudding.....nutmeg and brown skin on top......a dollop of raspberry jam in the middle...lovely.
They can all keep their nouvelle cuisine.....give me Lanky Grub.

A decent Hot Pot, with lots of seasoning, chunks of lamb, carrots and onions with layers of Golden sliced spuds and finally a little crumbled Lancashire on top and allowed to grill to a golden crust.

broth & dumplings & spud pie, you cant beat them. I'll agree with you there granny broth always tastes better the day after. Spud pie with lots of tomato ketchup, red cabbage and beetroot and pickled onions. Its comfort food!
