The Desktop Thread
Unsure of where exactly this should go, but thought it might be a good idea to make a thread with screenshots of AccyWeb users desktops!
If you need somewhere to upload them, you can use http://abarrett.ath.cx/upload HowTo for uploading to my site from a pc running Windows First press the printscreen button on your keyboard, sometimes called PrtScr. Go to paint and paste your picture using either edit > paste or hold ctrl and press v Save your file by going to File > Save As, ensure you choose JPEG as the format Visit http://abarrett.ath.cx/upload click browse, double click your file, then click SEND on the webpage If everything goes according to plan it should show you the tag which you need to paste here to display your desktop image! Please PM me if you have any difficulties and i'll *try* to help you ;) Heres mine!: http://abarrett.ath.cx/upload/data/cyfr.png http://abarrett.ath.cx/upload/data/cyfrthumb.png |

Here you go, this is mine.
I've done it this way because I think Roy prefers us to upload things to AccyWeb. You can just click on the thumbnail for a larger version. I know it's messy, lol. It's typical me. |
Re: The Desktop Thread
I would if I knew how lol! I've saved a desktop print screen to a document ..... best I could do lol! :o

Re: The Desktop Thread
To take a picture of the desktop, minimise (or close) all your windows, hit printscreen button ('Prt Sc' button).
Open up paint then go to edit and paste. Then save it and make sure the format is JPEG. Thats it :) Then you can upload it to accyweb, your own hosting site, or my link on the first post :) Willow, yeah you can upload it to accyweb, I just thought some users might want to get a full size picture so they could upload it to my space if required :D. |
Re: The Desktop Thread
Cheers Cyfr. I'll have a go but don't hold your breath ;)

Re: The Desktop Thread
Mines not exciting either Cyfr .. just a view in the Lakes that my brother took. Try to find one that does not interfere with the Icons too much.
Took me a long while to figure out that Prt Scrn was on the keyboard and not the Monitor  Lovely little thread though .. get an idea of people's personalities. Well, can't see Harwood Red as this lovely serene island with soft gentle waters lapping its shores. :D Ok so can't do it nash, nash. Followed instructions, de-sized it and filed it in junk, is Jpeg but telling me invalid file grrrrrr. |
Re: The Desktop Thread
If it's named filename.jpg and you originaly saved it as JPEG in paint, then try uploading it to http://abarrett.ath.cx/upload and then click on it and see if it displays in your browser, if it does, then it'll work for everyone from there so just paste the link :)... You don't need to resize it for that upload link either, as it's my own site not accyweb which has a 100kb restriction.

Re: The Desktop Thread
I've updated my first post with a little guide on how to upload the pictures to my site, my site will then automaticly create a thumbnail and give you the tags you need to copy and paste to accyweb.
Everything *should* work fine, pm me if you have any problems. At the end of it, you should have a small image in your post, which people can click on to see a full sized image. |
