What does your desktop look like?? Mine is a complete mess, I tend to shove links and potential threads there! :eek:

me thinks you need to tidy up your desktop lol

i tend to put unwanted/less used items into a folder which i called "unsed desk tops" and if i need owt from there just double click and up it comes

Does that apply to xp home cos i know xp pro does do that automatically but i dont think Home ed has that option - shame its a really good feature i miss:(

The only way around it is to manually do it, by creating a folder on desktop call it desktop icons & click & drag each icon into the folder so that your not used a lot icons are hidden [will test that out for you all cos im so kind] lol:D & if it dont work then i can let you know hehehehe:p

IT WORKS !!!!! :D

So there you go & you can change icon design if you go into properties of the new folder you set up >> change icon & will bring up loads of icons to choose from rather than the standard boring folder - a great way of tidying up your desktop:D:Banane13:

Right, I knew this was available under Home edition

Right click your desktop, select properties
Click teh 'Desktop' tab and then the 'Customise desktop'

there you will find a tickbox for 'Desktop Cleanup'

Theres even a button to run it now.

Ive gone to all that trouble :eek: & the sneaky beggar was there all the time, its set as every 60 days whereas pro it did it every month mmmmm any other sneaky bits to home ed entwisi ???? just so i dont make a muppet of meself hehehehe:D
