Your eyes are not deceiving you Cherokee. You are lucky to have just had 4, I have had 8 within a fortnight and they are huge... I have managed to catch 2 of them and liberate them. Unfortunately the remaining 6 were just too feisty so I had to call on my friend Dyson.......:D

Re: huge spiders

They seem to be eating more this year. I don't mind spiders because they keep the place clear of flies.

Re: huge spiders

Yeh we have the big ones in residence as long as my daughter dont spot them hehehe we've had many an episodes cos a few have creeped into her room & the pandamonium she causes ...so armed with glass & paper i duely rescue our 8 legged friends back outside, but they soon get back in somehow so now they are warned keep out of daughters sight & they'll be safe:D

So every night now im ordered to check daughters room before she goes to bed to make sure its safe & spider free lol im sure they are more scared of her than she is of them just they are quieter about it:eek::p

Me & me son dont mind them at all & laugh but least we dont kill em - thats for wasps!!! PMSL

Another thing as well been getting a few daddy long legs - what use are them that like most flying insects/bugs all they do is dive bomb & bloody pee you off they get a slap, least spiders keep out way & dont bug ya really.

Re: huge spiders

apparently if you put a house spider outside the back door it will probably be back in the house before you!!!! so squish them!!!

Re: huge spiders

im with you on that accymel,i hate those flying insects they seem to be attracted to me they send shivers down my spine,my son likes to save any insects and gets them out the house before my slipper reaches the insects,my little nature boy

Re: huge spiders

My eldest doesn'y mind bugs either. i have had a couple of BIG spiders in my house this year. I was sat at the computer tother night and one crept up alongside the computer dest.....................

So I turned everything off and went to bed. Even my mum had trouble getting me to go to bed at 9pm after I was about 4 years old, but that spider managed!!!!!!

I hate them that much I can't even kill em!!!!

At work other day, pulled covers back on one of our residents beds and a huge spider ran across the bed. I had to get my colleague to squish it.....:hititbana

OMG talking of spiders there is one right now on the wall next to the computer again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

But it's only a baby compared to the last one so I think i might survive this time. But if it brings any mates with boots on back......I'm off.:o

Re: huge spiders

omg omg omg!!!!!!

Excuse me while I just cry!!!!!

A huge spider just ran into my livingroom, and I seriously crapped my pants. Good job my mum was here to oblitorate it. Even she was affraid of that one and she isn't normally.

It ran under the sofa so when we moved sofa it ran under side unit. So she kicked side unti and it ran under sofa. In the end we had to corner it, I threw a pillow on it, then she lifted pillow and squished it with her shoe. Now she hates killing spiders...... but she knows I would have had to spend most the night in bed if she hadn't.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

You should see the spiders we have at work. They have been ginormous for years all big n black an horrible.
I ended up in a clients sink one year I was soooo scared. I have had clients and visitors shift em.
When MUMMIBOO was little she would shift em for me. I'm OK now a days until they start to scuttle.
Ewwww got goose bumps just thinking about the nasty critters.

Re: huge spiders

Don't know if it's coincidence or not , but usually within about 12 hours of seeing a spider in my bathtub we have an earthquake , just a slight tremor or little shake, this has gone on for years , I never see them anywhere else in the house

Re: huge spiders

Last night sat doing the puzzles in the paper something caught my eye it was a great big spider - with the legs about the size of the rim of my mug! I lifted my foot and in a blink of an eye it had gone under the settee. So i thought what have i to do leave it or have a root under the settee. decided to have a root under the settee and drag everything out from underneath it to see if it would come out again. Saw it right at the back next to the skirting boards so moved the settee and went underneath the cabinet. The cabinet i cant move and darent kick so i have now Herbie the spider as a house pet!

MUMMIBOO 27-09-2006 19:51

Re: huge spiders

Spiders eh we have 1. on the ceiling.
2. on the stairs.
3. on the side of my drawers upstairs.

oh and 1 in the sink as i went to bath the kids.

They are ok but the other night i sat on the sofa and becky came in with her homework and started screaming that something was jumping around under the setee i just laughed and she jumped onto the setee.

When i got up later i saw a baby frog just sat there when i went to get it, it hopped back under the setee and out the other side i got it and popped it back outside!

So i wonder what will come next year!!!
