New Words in the English Language
In our household, a couple of new words have cropped up which may well be contenders for the 2007 edition of the New Oxford Dictionary.
The first is: “WOZZON” When I dropped Willow off at church this morning, she asked me to bring a letter back and stated “It WOZZON the computer desk” This means that when I look for the letter, it could be anywhere in the house, EXCEPT on the computer desk! Had she said “IZZON” the computer desk, there is at least a 30% chance that it would be there. If it isn't,then W.W.3 will break out as it means that someone in the family other than her has moved it. This is a frequent occurrence and of course, “IZZON” then changes to “WOZZON” and accusations fly. Do you have any more new words in your household? |
Re: New Words in the English Language
I don't have any words that spring to mind immediately. However, if i have a mental block (quite frequently) i'm forever saying
"Have you seen that thing, that does that thing". This usually means the remote control. :D |
Re: New Words in the English Language
In our household, when I was a teenager, we used to be fed on 'IFITS'.....
IFITS in the fridge....get it yourself. IFITS in the cupboard......Make it yourself. Mmmmmm, they were lovely those IFITS..:D |
Re: New Words in the English Language
We have another one WERZIT? - this is interogatory and is usually followed by references to WOZZON when it no longer IZZON.
