I'm not a soap fan

I'm not really a soap fan, can't remember the last time I watched Corry and have never watched Dead Enders, but this week I've been glued to Emerdale for "Steph's Trial". No I haven't suddenly become an avid fan and after Friday I probably wont watch it again, the reason is that my better half has been appearing as an extra on the soap. Last year when she retired one of the things she decided to do was have a go at TV extra work, so she singed on with a Manchester Agency. She has don a few bits here and there, but this week she's a member of the Jury at Steph's Trial, she's the one next to the forman on the front row second from left. Her next appearance is Holly Oaks on 4th Jan and she actually has a few words in that. She's now hopping for a part in Corry, if she is successful I may be tempted to watch that for the first time in years.

Re: I'm not a soap fan

I just sorted my dvd copies & reminded myself that i conquered a mini dream to be on tv [without it cracking:D] done a tv discussion programme whith womens aid about domestic violence campaign, which was cool & was asked after to sit in as part of audience for another session show of same prog [double filming for xmas period] hey i know when live cams are on n off, it was good for a day but wouldnt like to do it all the time got pretty boring waiting around & re shoots [well i left my mobey on & someone rang:eek: so had to re shoot lol] best was harrassing the corrie crew & met a few famous tv personalities hehehehehe.

The did another dream of radio did a mini interview for radio one [was my fav radio station at one time on a sunday afternoon - not now] they never played my request :( so shattered illusions there but least i can say i done it & got the dream even for a short while:)

My only claim to fame is that I was on the box back in the 80s on World of Sport, I was refereeing a National Pool Comp, I also was in the audience on 3 occasions on Up Front Lucy and Tony, I actually ended up in the Green Room chatting to Lucy Meecock for about half an hour. I also once did an interviev on Radio Lances when I launched the Hyndburn Branch of The National Asthma Canpaign back in 1990.

Congrats to your better half, jaysay! Wish her lots of success and loads of fun.

While I've done lots of community theatre, I managed by sheer luck to appear on Saturday Night Live a few years back. I was on vacation in California and was waiting for my wife and her mom, while people-watching on a pedestrian mall in Santa Monica. A fellow came up to me with a cameraman and asked if he could interview me for SNL. To my great surprise, one of my friends at the office came up to me one Monday and said he had seen the segment.

Stand up?

I'd rather do a Dave Allen, and sit on a stool, no pun intended.;)
