Re: Community Wardens

The question is this: Apart from supping tea & coffee, are they eating anything? If so, what?

What you need to do Happyone is follow them into one of their cafes, stand behind them in the queue, and as they're about to order, tap one on the shoulder and say..."They do a very nice jam butty in here..." then as they order, you slink out.

30 seconds later you rush back in and scream.."Community Wardens...come quick...the speed camera is being vandalised..". As they rush out to deal with the culprits, leaving their jam butty's behind, you quickly consume the aforesaid...

Good idea or what?

Most of the Community Wardens joined the scheme as it was supposed to by Environmental Issues seeing as we worked under Environmental Health. What has this got to do with being a police officer or a traffic warden?

It's the ignorant people like you who don't look into these things before posting silly comments. It was a good rewarding job, until they decided to give us Police jobs and tasks to do. We didn't choose to do them.

By the way, one of the wardens has left and now a Police Officer with Lancashire Constabulary. So much for not having the skills.........

Neal 16-02-2004 07:36

.......and as for the eating in Victoria Cafe, we were told to eat in public places so that people can see us 'mixing-in' instead of sitting in community centres or the Police Station where no-one can see us. You eat don't you?

You can't win either way......

The police have learnt a lot from us, they have been told to do this now also.

Will you complain about that also?

Why am I replying to this, i'm not a Warden anymore!

honeymonster 10-03-2004 19:14

Re: Community Wardens

you only need look at the environment round acc to see there not doing a right good job. the only reason the police use it is because they have no canteen anymore and they take there food away. so as for the wardens there a waste of tax payers money as are alot of things the council do.

lettie 10-03-2004 19:42

Re: Community Wardens

I think it's a good idea for wardens and officers to be seen eating in a public place. When I started nursing, the rules were - no eating or drinking in a public place while in uniform. If a member of the public complained, we used to be repremanded for it. As far as I'm aware this rule still stands, but I will eat and drink where I like, being on community, I have no choice!
