Mobile Phone
On friday morning at about 4am i got up to go to the loo and thought i would take the mobile and see what time it was as it has a big clock on it and i would not wake anne as i would not need to put the light on.
BIG mistake as i walked into the bathroom i banged my toe on the scales and jumped my mobile jumped out of my hand right down the loo:( so i put the light on and fished it out it was in a leather case but dripping wet . so i took it apart and left it on the top of telly to dry out thinking new mobile ,i have just put it all back togeather and its still working :D yipee |
Re: Mobile Phone
That was very lucky. I saw something on the "Gadget Show" about this. They said that most mobiles will still work if left to dry naturally & hadn't been in the water for too long.

Re: Mobile Phone
I really thought it would be dead and i would need a new one
i had only had it 6 weeks too |
Re: Mobile Phone
They really are hard to kill. I once had to leave mine in a pan of water for 3 days before it completely died.

I needed a new phone, so i thought i claim on the insurance. Unfortunately, after reading through the small print i realised that the best way (only) was to claim for water damage. I soaked it in water so that i couldn't be repaired. I had a Motorola Star Tac flip phone, these had become obsolete, so they had to give me vouchers for a new model. :D Always read the small print when getting insurance 3 weeks without a phone, but it was worth it. |
Re: Mobile Phone
ya shoulda tried boiling it ;)

Re: Mobile Phone
I had a Motorola V3 that went through a full wash cycle with my work cloths and did it survive its ordeal???..... Nope. :(
I’m on contract (12 months) and my contract was just about up, ready for renewal which means I get a new phone. I went into town for the up grade and fill out all the appropriate paper work only to find out that my last contract was for 18 months and not my usual 12 months. So I’m now using an old phone until next summer. I didn’t bother with the insurance this time because after all the years I’ve been on contract I’ve never needed to claim, typical. :o :) |
Re: Mobile Phone
Motorola's just dont lile getting wet Len. I spilled Coke over mine and it wouldnt work even after drying the battery out.

Re: Mobile Phone
sorry mate but paying your insurance for 2 previous years doesn't qualify you to rip them(me) off that particular year. Your insurance runs for a specific period of time, your payments the last 2 years were used to payout on claims in those respective years. It was still fraud and a criminal offence.

My first reaction was, ooh I hate when that happens, then with the phone it was dag. With my luck as I reached down to get the phone either I would of bump me head, step in cat mess, or found that the previous occupant hadn't flushed!:D :D Sorry for the incidence but appreciate you sharing it. I had a good chuckle over it but certainly felt your pain and annoyance.:) Cheers Mate! Brian |
