Purely meant as a jest however there are items appearing. 10 car airbag canisters are listed already.

"Quick sale required as police are knocking at my door" :D I love it.

People who have been scavenging have caused a lot more environmental problems with stuff they have removed from the containers and scattered all over the beach then getting washed away by the tides.

Well let's hope the insurance companies will cover all the claims - apparently a lot of the stuff belongs to private indiividuals who had paid to have it shipped abroad.

Depends who is shipping it for them.

You can get Cargo Insurance as an individual, but if you were using a firm, then surley they must be insured, or are they?

I've just seen this news link and the third paragraph from the bottom is interesting.

Anyone trying to sell what they have taken from the beach on eBay could be prosecuted for handling stolen goods.

I never knew there was a beach on eBay
;)

This has now been removed. Surely they cant sell the items, as they have to registar any items and then that gives the owner to claim them back.

That one wasn't even an item nicked from the wreckage. Methinks eBay has gone into overdrive! It was an amusing spoof but fundraising for charity - air ambulance I think. It just amused me the skit on 'Whiskey Galore'

Re: Salvaged Items appear on ebay

We once had a boat sink in Brixham harbour in Devon. The bloody harbour master nicked all the things that floated out of it, including my new water skis, and there was nothing we could do about it, as he'd claimed salvage rights.

A big pile of life jackets, wet suits, tools. We could see them in his office, and couldn't do a damn thing.:(
