Our Furby likes to act soooooo cool - the other day he was lying on the pouffe, rolled over and fell off the back! :D It's when they look at you then as if to say "I meant to do that."

Re: Cats!

my cat is a complete nutter. In a morning he hangs on the little lip of our door staring up at us through the little window as much to say " well let me in then" the neighbors must have a right giggle at him.

Last summer we were sat in the garden and a staffi dog came in from no-where and was tormenting my dog. From out of no-where my cat dived on the staffi and started kicking it's head in (( so comical to watch)) the staffi didn't know what was going on!! it ran off down the back alley, and the cat sauntered off as much as to say "come back if ya dare" :D:D

I don't know about dangerous dogs.....I have a dangerous cat. Even our dog will move out from under the warm fire to let the cat lie down :D:D

Re: Cats!

Ask Mick or Anne about the 50p toy they bought their cat and what it, (the cat), does.

By the way this doesn't mean I am suddenly liking cats, it just means their cat is a good one, (nice change).

Re: Cats!

We used to have a dog and cat and the cat used to torment the dog something bad. The cat would start bugging the dog normally a claw swipe over his nose or a pounce on his tail and dig in his claws and then run out of the house with the dog chasing him out and round the garden next thing the cat would be back in and jump onto the chair just through the door - dog would come flying in and cat would jump onto his back and dig his claws in and 'ride' him round the living room! Then he'd jump back off and out through the door and up onto the top of the garage out of range of the dog. Dog would then be barking at him sat on top of the garage and eventually he'd give up and come back in the house and lie down in front of the fire. Next thing the cat would come back in and curl up in the dogs paws. By the way we werent predjudiced in our house - dog was called Sultan and the cat was called Nigger. Both black as the ace of spades. Also this was back in the 70's and 80's before everything became pc! Mum used to hate it though having to stand at the back door and shout for them both to come in!

I'm very sad today as I had to have my cat put down last night. He was 16 years old and very, very ill. His heart and kidney's were failing and he could barely walk.

When I got him as a kitten, he was a bandy legged, scrawny, scaredy cat. He turned into a sleek, butch looking, scaredy cat. I miss him already.

Re: Cats!

Aaaw Gayle you have my sympathy. :( I know how much a part of the family an animal becomes and how sad it is to lose them. You had 16 lovely years of him though and that's the best thing to think about.

Re: Cats!

Bless, don’t you just love the little sods. We had one when we where kids at Church, the thing would run up the wall and hang on to the wallpaper over the door and drop on your head as you came through, I think it came to a sticky end?

There was one of the cats on that clip that looked very much like my Monty....who died last Saturday...so Gayle, I know a little bit of how you are feeling. :(

Willow, thanks for the lovely clip. I know that I shall be watching that again!

My dearest Mrs Pilkington please accept my deepest sympathies for the passing of your glorious if somewhat monstrous pussy. I know you will miss him, I would be so temped to stuff for you but alas it is beyond my means.

I trust you have take photos that will withstand the years to come that will demonstrate to others what a fantastically beautiful pussy you had.

If it is of any help, spiritually they pass as we do so you can be assured that you will see your pussy again. God bless.

Re: Cats!

Doug, thankyou for your condolences. it was strange really because I was away from Monday to Friday and I kept expectimg my hubby to phone me to tell me that he had died......but he waited until I got home. I cuddled him for the last two hours of his life. I console myself with the thought that i will meet him in the next world and the fact that he had a lovely life with us. Fresh cooked chicken and turkey...none of the tinned stuff for him.
We buried him on Sunday. Under a rose bush in my daughters garden.

Oh Margaret condolences too on the loss of your feline family member.

Margaret Pilkington 24-02-2007 12:12

Re: Cats!

Thank you Willow. I keep on telling myself he was 'just' a cat.....but when he arrived 7 years ago as a rescued animal he was spitty and not a bit friendly....over the years he became a little more mellow......and in the last few weeks of his life he had taken to coming and sitting on my lap or very close to me. He was an old,old feller......and he is now resting in the sunniest spot of my daughters garden. RIP Monty.

Gayle 02-03-2007 18:50

Re: Cats!

Don't know about you Margaret every now and then I forget that he's gone and 'see' him out of the corner of my eye - turn round and see my boots lying on the floor or something - then feel sad again.

Mine was an old, old man - but still miss him.

Margaret Pilkington 02-03-2007 19:11

Re: Cats!

Yes, Gayle....and i have put food in his dish a couple of times....forgetting he is gone. The food hasn't gone to waste though as I have a resident stray tom cat in the garage (very timid and won't let me anywhere near him) and we have another visiting cat that was feeding out of rubbish bins all of last summer...who WAS timid but now comes into the house and makes himself comfortable for a while and then goes of on his merry way.

Monty was a very old man and just gave up the ghost. It was as if he knew it was his time to go. I still miss him lots.

Oh Margaret i feel so upset for you i know just how you feel its still not that long ago since our Spike died i still miss him soo much he was the one who told me i was pregnant the day before he died, when i was pregnant with my first 2 he used to come and sit on my belly and thats the only time he did it the night before he was killed he came and sat on my belly and wouldnt get off we were laughing because i kept moving him off and he would just get right back on again we cuddled and kissed and the next day he was killed and the pregnancy only lasted 9 weeks too strange how things turn out eh!

Spike was another old old man at 21 years old i think he was the Grandad.

I miss him soo much we have him buried in the garden too i just wish we had him cremated so i could take him when we move but i didnt think at the time.

We now got these 2 rascals they are daft, not like spike he was wise and old and intellegent and loving.

Strange how attached you can be to a pet member of the family.

my thoughts are with you margaret. xxx
