Sign the pledge.

I hereby promise not to post in any thread on Accy Web that has been started, or has a Troll, participating in it.

By doing so I believe it will starve them of the virtual oxygen by which they thrive, in the hope they will soon move on to Trolling pastures new.

By the way, for anyone who hasn't come across the term Troll before, here is a definition.

Urban Dictionary: troll

Accy Web will continue to welcome, as we always have, anyone who has a positive contribution to make, as many new members will testify.

We will not be taken over by people who are abusive, racist, and intent on filling the forum with banal rubbish.

Debate is good. Trolling, on the other hand, should not be tolerated.

Well at least nobody will cry over or have a hissy fit about things they don't see. They won't get childish and hurl personal insults either so I'm all for it. If there's anyone else that doesn't like me or my opinions then please block me. That why there is a blocking system on the thread after all.

You still don't understand do you?

It's not a case of blocking you, it's a case of you treating members as if they may, (although some of us don't), have some sort of minds of their own without having you or your little lovely, thinking you know better than the rest of us, in our little world.

It's not so much fit in or butt out, we enjoy the odd conflict, but we can't cope with such superior beings as yourself so if this makes you feel good and gives you the idea that you have won, thats fine just leave us alone and we'll cock things up for ourselves, we really don't need your help.

I don't think I am superior to you or anyone else. As for "my lovely" she has her own ideas and own mind. She's not my robot. Tell me that the thread wasn't going well tonight before Garinda came in and his FIRST POST was a personal insult! I too enjoy the odd conflict of opinions but people aren't letting it stay at that they are throwing personal insults. I don't WANT people to block me I'd much rather fit in but, if attacked personally then I will retalliate. Tell me that my Bridges of Accrington thread hasn't found plenty of interested and interesting posters who have felt no need to conflict OR throw personal insults. I still stand by what I said earlier I have NEVER started the abuse and nobody has yet shown me proof otherwise. People accuse me without evidence and get their friends to gang together. Do you think THAT is fair?

YES.

Why? Certain people say I'm a troll and this and that but they never show WHERE. Because they can't. Just like cashman turned pussycat when he couldn't answer my last question to him. Just like Garinda mutiposted the same picture when HE couldn't answer. You're full of it and you know it. Not one of the people that are calling me a troll can show any proof. If you can then get me banned. You can't do that either though can you. Even Garinda that is on a crusade to have me banned can't do it because the only way he can is to get his buddies to do it. He can't show evidence of that any more than the rest of the troublemakers can prove their accusations. Tell ya what, why not all stay in your little group and don't post in threads that I start. Any forum member that insults me I can always put on block if I feel the need. If they don't like me they are welcome to do the same! That way I don't have to listen to there crap and they don't have to hear my opinions, thoughts or posts. Sanity restored, peace to all men. Oh and so that I stay on topic >> This post was started by the worst troller I've seen on accyweb. His trolling was reported and shortly after the thread (started by me and missed by many) was removed. You should look a little more closely at who is ruining your forum!! Goodbye and good luck.

I didn't mean goodbye for good. I meant for now, sorry. I neither want nor do I need remorse from you or anyone that has signed this thread because they were mislead by Garinda. Empty threats are like empty cups, useless. PROVE any of the accusations and then I'll take note.

guys, the original post of this thread won't work because any troll will just us it as a way of stifling our normal accyweb activities, I urge you to click that Ignore button, the only crap I see now is what some of you quote, the rest is hidden from my eyes. Any trolls can post to their hearts content, if no-one talks back it will soon get very boring for them and they will start posting stuff that the mods can use as genuine reasons to ban them.

Re: Sign the pledge.

I'm with Entwisi on this one and will be putting a certain arrogant little madam on the ignore list. After her childish and completely undeserved insult to me last night (which has been removed by the mods), I do not wish to read any more of her over-inflated opinions which are based on her own view of her intelligence, which to be frank is very much lacking....

I wish her well in her A levels but fear that her arrogance, self importance and total lack of awareness regarding opinions which are different to her own make her an unsuitable degree candidate.:)

Anyone care to utilise the ignore list?:D:rolleyes:

I will ignore the threads they start and ignore the posts they make in other threads but will not ignore the threads themselves because other people deserve to be responded to. I'll just reply to the other posts. I will not be drawn into arguments for no reason.

Hopefully any other offensive posts will be removed too as and when they appear Lettie.

This ignore list is great, it allows you to read everybody else's posts except the people on your ignore list. Some threads are now starting to be a pleasant read..:)

I have more or less stayed off the forum for the last few days, just dipping in to read but rarely posting.

Somehow this has all got out of hand.

Some people have been posting (they may or not be on their second or third account name) and some people have been winding them up. The first someones have then got defensive and it's all kicked off and some people got caught in the cross fire.

I'm not pointing blame at anyone but every one who has risen to it has contributed to the downward slide of this forum. Whether you've been defending your case or adding smilies to make it appear as though you're sharing the joke, you've still played a part in it.

It has to stop!

I disagree. If someone is posting right wing fascist clap trap, as well as generally abusing other members, it must be challenged.

I’m not sure about all this. I can see many of the arguments and I have little doubt that some of our friends on here have been insulted or left feeling dishearten or disgusted at some of the alleged comments, I say alleged because I didn’t read the posts concerned.

However, I feel that Gayle has a valid point, further to that point it is 2007 and we live in a world of Human Rights “for Some” Freedom of Information and Freedom of speech “allegedly”.

My point is what are we actually doing here? Are bullying these so called Trolls and possibly others, isolating them? Treating them less favourably than others or better?

If these people have caused offence, taken to making personal insults or deliberately undermining basic freedoms then it’s a matter for the Moderators to act in the best interest of the forum and its members, it’s not for a few of us the decide to dictate their fate. This is a personal opinion

I hereby promise not to post in any thread on Accy Web that has been started, or has a Troll, participating in it.

By doing so I believe it will starve them of the virtual oxygen by which they thrive, in the hope they will soon move on to Trolling pastures new.
